الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Ra. THESE ARE MESSAGES of a revelation clear in itself and clearly showing the truth:
അലിഫ്.ലാം.റാ. സുവ്യക്തവും സത്യത്തെ വ്യക്തമായി കാണിച്ചുതരുന്നതുമായ ദിവ്യ വെളിപാടിന്റെ സന്ദേശങ്ങളാകുന്നു ഇത്
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ﴿٢﴾
behold, We have bestowed it from on high as a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason.
തീര്ച്ചയായും അറബി ഭാഷയിലുള്ള ഒരു സംഭാഷണമായി നാം ഇതിനെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാല് നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ യുക്തിയുമായി അതിനെ ചേര്ത്തു വെക്കാന്.
نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْقَصَصِ بِمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ وَإِن كُنتَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ﴿٣﴾
In the measure that We reveal this Qur'an unto thee, [O Prophet,] We explain it to thee in the best possible way, seeing that ere this thou wert indeed among those who are unaware [of what revelation is].
(പ്രവാചകരെ!) നിനക്ക് ബോധനമായി ഈ ഖുര്ആന് നാം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചതിലൂടെ, ഏറ്റവും നല്ല രീതിയില് നാം നിനക്ക് അത് വിവരിച്ചു തരികയാണ്, ഇതിന് മുമ്പ് നീ (എന്താണ് ദിവ്യസന്ദേശം എന്ന്) അറിയാത്തവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിരുന്നു.
إِذْ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًۭا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ رَأَيْتُهُمْ لِى سَٰجِدِينَ﴿٤﴾
LO! Thus spoke Joseph unto his father: "O my father! Behold, I saw [in a dream] eleven stars, as well as the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves before me!"
ഹേ! യോസേഫ് തന്റെ പിതാവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ പിതാവേ, പതിനൊന്നു നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളും സൂര്യനും ചന്ദ്രനും എനിക്ക് സാഷ്ടാംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നതായി ഞാന് സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.”
قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ لَا تَقْصُصْ رُءْيَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ إِخْوَتِكَ فَيَكِيدُوا۟ لَكَ كَيْدًا ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ﴿٥﴾
[Jacob] replied: "O my dear son! Do not relate thy dream to thy brothers lest [out of envy] they devise an evil scheme against thee; verily, Satan is man's open foe!
പിതാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: “മകനേ, ഈ സ്വപ്നം നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോട് പറയരുത്. കാരണം, അവര് നിനക്കെതിരില് ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തും. ചെകുത്താന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ തുറന്ന ശത്രുവാണല്ലോ.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ كَمَآ أَتَمَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَبَوَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌۭ﴿٦﴾
For, [as thou hast been shown in thy dream,] even thus will thy Sustainer elect thee, and will impart unto thee some understanding of the inner meaning of happenings, and will bestow the full measure of His blessings upon thee and upon the House of Jacob - even as, aforetime, He bestowed it in full measure upon thy forefathers Abraham and Isaac. Verily, thy Sustainer is all-knowing, wise!"
(നിന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തില് നീ കണ്ടതുപോലെ)} നിന്റെ നാഥന് നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും. സംഭവിക്കുന്നവയുടെയെല്ലാം ആന്തരികാര്ത്ഥങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള തിരിച്ചറിവുകള് നിനക്ക് പകര്ന്നു തരും. നിനക്കും യാക്കോബ് കുടുംബത്തിനും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള് പൂര്ത്തീകരിച്ചു നല്കും- നിനക്ക് മുമ്പ് നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രഹാമിനും ഇസഹാക്കിനും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള് പൂര്ത്തീകരിച്ചതുപോലെ. നിശ്ചയം, നിന്റെ നാഥന് എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവനും യുക്തിമാനുമാണ്!”
۞ لَّقَدْ كَانَ فِى يُوسُفَ وَإِخْوَتِهِۦٓ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ﴿٧﴾
Indeed, in [the story of] Joseph and his brothers there are messages for all who search [after truth].
യോസേഫിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിലും സത്യാന്വേഷകര്ക്ക് മഹത്തായ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളുണ്ട്.
إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ﴿٨﴾
NOW [Joseph's brothers] spoke [thus to one another:] "Truly, Joseph and his brother [Benjamin] are dearer to our father than we, even though we are so many.
(യോസേഫിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് തമ്മില്) പറഞ്ഞു: “യോസേഫും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനും (ബിന്യാമിനും) ആണ് നമ്മുടെ പിതാവിന് നമ്മളേക്കാള് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടവര്, നമ്മള് കൂടുതല് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും. നമ്മുടെ പിതാവ് വ്യക്തമായും വഴിവിട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.”
ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًۭا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا صَٰلِحِينَ﴿٩﴾
[Said one of them:] "Slay Joseph, or else drive him away to some [faraway] land, so that your father's regard may be for you alone: and after this is done, you will be [free to repent and to live once again as] righteous people!"
(അവരിലൊരാള് പറഞ്ഞു:) “നിങ്ങള് യോസേഫിനെ കൊന്നുകളയുക, അല്ലെങ്കില് (ദൂരെയുള്ള) ഒരിടത്തേക്ക് അവനെ കൊണ്ടു കളയുക, അപ്പോള് പിതാവിന്റെ അടുപ്പം നിങ്ങളോട് മാത്രമാവും; ഇത് ചെയ്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞാല്, (നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് പശ്ചാത്തപിക്കാന് കഴിയുകയും ഒരിക്കല്കൂടി) നല്ല മനുഷ്യരാവാനും കഴിയും!”
قَالَ قَآئِلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ لَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ وَأَلْقُوهُ فِى غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلْجُبِّ يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ ٱلسَّيَّارَةِ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ﴿١٠﴾
Another of them said: "Do not slay Joseph, but - rather - if you must do something - cast him into the dark depths of this well, [whence] some caravan may pick him up."
അവരില് മറ്റൊരുവന് പറഞ്ഞു: “യോസഫിനെ കൊല്ലരുത്-മറിച്ച്- നിങ്ങള്ക്കെന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യണമെന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില്- ഈ കിണറിന്റെ ഇരുണ്ട ആഴങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അവനെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക. (അപ്പോള്) ഏതെങ്കിലും യാത്രാ സംഘങ്ങള് അവനെ എടുത്ത് കൊള്ളും”
قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأْمَ۫نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَ﴿١١﴾
[On this they agreed; and thereupon] they spoke [thus to their father]: "O our father! Wherefore wilt thou not trust us with Joseph, seeing that we are indeed his well-wishers?
(അത് അവര് അംഗീകരിക്കുകയും; എന്നിട്ട്) (തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനോട്) അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ! താങ്കള്ക്കെന്ത് പറ്റി? യോസഫിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ഞങ്ങളെ അങ്ങ് വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തതെന്ത്? അവന്റെ ഗുണകാംക്ഷികളാണ് ഞങ്ങളെന്നും?
أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًۭا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ﴿١٢﴾
Let him go out with us tomorrow, that he may enjoy himself and play: and, verily, we shall guard him well!"
ഞങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം നാളെ അവനെയും അയച്ചാലും, അപ്പോള് അവന് കളിക്കുകയും സന്തോഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാം: തീര്ച്ചയായും ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ സംരക്ഷിച്ചു കൊള്ളാം!”
قَالَ إِنِّى لَيَحْزُنُنِىٓ أَن تَذْهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَخَافُ أَن يَأْكُلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَأَنتُمْ عَنْهُ غَٰفِلُونَ﴿١٣﴾
[Jacob] answered: "Behold, it grieves me indeed [to think] that you might take him with you, for I dread lest the wolf devour him at a moment when you are heedless of him!"
(യാക്കോബ്) മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “നിശ്ചയം, നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം അവനെയും കൂട്ടുന്നത് (അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത് തന്നെ) എന്നെ ദുഃഖിതനാക്കുന്നു, അവന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് അശ്രദ്ധരാകുമ്പോള് അവനെ ചെന്നായ പിടിക്കുമെന്ന് ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു!”
قَالُوا۟ لَئِنْ أَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ﴿١٤﴾
Said they: "Surely, if the wolf were to devour him notwithstanding that we are so many - then, behold, we ought ourselves to perish!"
അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: “നിശ്ചയം, ഞങ്ങള് ഒരുപാട് പേരുണ്ടായിരിക്കേ അവനെ ചെന്നായ പിടിച്ച് തിന്നുകയാണെങ്കില്- തീര്ച്ചയായും ഞങ്ങള് സ്വയം നശിക്കേണ്ടവരായിത്തീരും!”
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَجْمَعُوٓا۟ أَن يَجْعَلُوهُ فِى غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلْجُبِّ ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ لَتُنَبِّئَنَّهُم بِأَمْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿١٥﴾
And so, when they went away with him, they decided to cast him into the dark depths of the well. And We revealed [this] unto him: "Thou wilt yet remind them of this their deed at a time when they shall not perceive [who thou art]!"
അങ്ങനെ അവര് അവനെ കൊണ്ടു പോവുകയും അവനെ കിണറ്റിന്റെ ഇരുള് മുറ്റിയ ആഴത്തിലേക്കെറിയാന് അവര് ഒന്നിച്ച് തീരുമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോള് (യോസേഫിന്) നാം ബോധനം നല്കി, നീ അവര്ക്ക് അവരുടെ ഈ ചെയ്തിയെപ്പറ്റി ഒരിക്കല് വിവരിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുമെന്ന്. നീ ആരാണെന്ന്.
وَجَآءُوٓ أَبَاهُمْ عِشَآءًۭ يَبْكُونَ﴿١٦﴾
And at nightfall they came to their father, weeping,
എന്നിട്ട്, സന്ധ്യാ നേരത്ത് വിലപിച്ചു കൊണ്ടവര് പിതാവിനരികിലെത്തി.
قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍۢ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ﴿١٧﴾
[and] said: "O our father! Behold, we went off racing with one another, and left Joseph behind with our things; and thereupon the wolf devoured him! But [we know that] thou wouldst not believe us even though we speak the truth -
(എന്നിട്ട്) പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ! ഞങ്ങള് പരസ്പരം മല്സരിക്കാനായി പോയതായിരുന്നു, യോസഫിനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ സാധനങ്ങള്ക്കരികെ നിര്ത്തിയിട്ട്; അപ്പോള് ഒരു ചെന്നായ അവനെ തിന്നു കളഞ്ഞു! (എന്നാല്(ഞങ്ങള്ക്കറിയാം) ഞങ്ങള് സത്യം പറഞ്ഞാലും അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വസിക്കുകയില്ല.”
وَجَآءُو عَلَىٰ قَمِيصِهِۦ بِدَمٍۢ كَذِبٍۢ ۚ قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًۭا ۖ فَصَبْرٌۭ جَمِيلٌۭ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ﴿١٨﴾
and they produced his tunic with false blood upon it. [But Jacob] exclaimed: "Nay, but it is your [own] minds that have made [so terrible] a happening seem a matter of little account to you!" But [as for myself,] patience in adversity is most goodly [in the sight of God]; and it is to God [alone] that I pray to give me strength to bear the misfortune which you have described to me."
കള്ളച്ചോര പുരട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ കുപ്പായം അവര് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു (എന്നാല് യാക്കോബ്) വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു: “അല്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ (സ്വന്തം) മനസ്സുകള് ഒരു കാര്യം ചെയ്യാന് നിങ്ങളെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു!” എന്നാല് (എന്നെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം) ആപത്ഘട്ടത്തിലുള്ള ക്ഷമയാണ് (ദൈവത്തിനു മുന്നിലെ) ഏറ്റവും നല്ല കാര്യം; നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു വിവരിച്ചു തന്നെ ദുരന്തത്തെ വഹിക്കാനുള്ള കരുത്തു നല്കാന് ഞാന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കേണ്ടത് ദൈവത്തോട് (മാത്രം) ആകുന്നു.
وَجَآءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌۭ فَأَرْسَلُوا۟ وَارِدَهُمْ فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ يَٰبُشْرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَٰمٌۭ ۚ وَأَسَرُّوهُ بِضَٰعَةًۭ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ﴿١٩﴾
AND THERE CAME a caravan; and they sent forth their drawer of water, and he let down his bucket into the well - [and when he saw Joseph] he exclaimed: "Oh, what a lucky find, this boy!" And they hid him with a view to selling him: but God had full knowledge of all that they were doing.
ഒരു യാത്രാസംഘം അതുവഴി വന്നു. വെള്ളത്തിനായി അവര് വെള്ളംകോരിയെ അയച്ചു. അയാള് തൊട്ടി കിണറ്റിലേക്കിട്ടപ്പോള് (യോസേഫിനെ കണ്ട്) അയാള് വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇതാ ഒരു നല്ല വാര്ത്ത., ഇവിടെയിതാ ഒരു ബാലന്! “ അവര് ബാലനെ വില്ക്കാനുദ്ദേശിച്ച് ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു. അവര് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നതിനെ പറ്റി ദൈവത്തിന് നന്നായറിയാമായിരുന്നു.
وَشَرَوْهُ بِثَمَنٍۭ بَخْسٍۢ دَرَٰهِمَ مَعْدُودَةٍۢ وَكَانُوا۟ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلزَّٰهِدِينَ﴿٢٠﴾
And they sold him for a paltry price - a mere few silver coins: thus low did they value him.
എന്നിട്ടവര് അവനെ തുച്ഛമായ വിലക്ക് വിറ്റു- ഏതാനും വെള്ളി നാണയങ്ങള്ക്ക്: അവന് അവര് ചെറിയ മൂല്യം മാത്രമേ കണക്കാക്കിയിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.
