അൽ-കഹ്ഫ് · Surah 18 of 114 · 110 verses · Makkah
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَا ۜ﴿١﴾
ALL PRAISE is due to God, who has bestowed. this divine writ from on high upon His servant, and has not allowed any deviousness to obscure its meaning:
അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് തന്റെ ദാസനു ഈ ദിവ്യ ഗ്രന്ഥം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥത്തെ തമസ്കരിക്കാൻ ഒരു വക്രതയും അനുവദിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ദൈവത്തിനാണ് സർവ സ്തുതിയും
قَيِّمًۭا لِّيُنذِرَ بَأْسًۭا شَدِيدًۭا مِّن لَّدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًۭا﴿٢﴾
[a divine writ] unerringly straight, meant to warn [the godless] of a severe punishment from Him, and to give unto the believers who do good works the glad tiding that theirs shall be a goodly reward -
പിഴവുകൾ വരാത്തവണ്ണം ഋജുവും (ദൈവ ചിന്തയില്ലാത്തവർക്ക്) ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നും ഉള്ള തീവ്രശിക്ഷയെപ്പറ്റി മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകുന്നതിനും സത്യവിശ്വാസം കൈക്കൊണ്ട് സല്ക്കര്മചാരികളാകുന്നവരെ, അവര്ക്ക് ശാശ്വതമായി വസിക്കാവുന്ന ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായ പ്രതിഫലമുണ്ടെന്ന സുവിശേഷമറിയിക്കുന്നതിനും ഉദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടുള്ള (ഒരു ഗ്രന്ഥം) ആകുന്നു അത്.
مَّٰكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًۭا﴿٣﴾
[a state of bliss] in which they shall dwell beyond the count of time.
(പരമാനന്ദകരമായ അവസ്ഥയിൽ) ശാശ്വതമായി അവർ അവിടെ വസിക്കും.
وَيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدًۭا﴿٤﴾
Furthermore, [this divine writ is meant] to warn all those who assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son."
കൂടാതെ, (ഈ ദൈവിക ഗ്രന്ഥം കൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്) “തനിക്കൊരു പുത്രനെ ദൈവം സ്വീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് തറപ്പിച്ച് പറയുന്നവരെയെല്ലാം ആകെയും താക്കീതു ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുമാണ്.
مَّا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍۢ وَلَا لِءَابَآئِهِمْ ۚ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةًۭ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ ۚ إِن يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبًۭا﴿٥﴾
No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter!
അവർക്കും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും അവനെപ്പറ്റി ഒരു വിധത്തിലുള്ള ജ്ഞാനവും ഇല്ല. ഭയാനകമാണ് അവരുടെ വായകളിൽ നിന്ന് വരുന്ന ഈ വചനം. (ഒപ്പം) അവർ ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നത് വെറും കളവു മാത്രമാണ്.
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا﴿٦﴾
But wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death with grief over them if they are not willing to believe in this message?
അവർ ഈ സന്ദേശത്തിൽ വിശ്വാസമർപ്പിക്കാൻ തയ്യാറാകുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ദുഃഖത്താൽ നീ മരണംവരേക്കും സ്വയം പീഡകൾ വരിച്ചേക്കുമോ?
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ زِينَةًۭ لَّهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًۭا﴿٧﴾
Behold, We have willed that all beauty on earth be a means by which We put men to a test, [showing] which of them are best in conduct;
ഭൂമിക്ക് മുകളിലുള്ള എല്ലാ അലങ്കാരങ്ങളെയും മനുഷ്യരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു ഉപാധിയായി നാം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. മനുഷ്യരില് ഏറ്റവും നല്ല സൽകർമ്മചാരികൾ ആരെന്ന് പരീക്ഷിക്കാന്വേണ്ടി.
وَإِنَّا لَجَٰعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًۭا جُرُزًا﴿٨﴾
and, verily, [in time] We shall reduce all that is on it to barren dust!
തീർച്ചയായും (വൈകാതെ) ഭൂമിക്കു മുകളിൽ ഉള്ളതിനെ എല്ലാം നാം തരിശായ പൊടിപടലങ്ങളായി മാറ്റും! (ഇഹലോകജീവിതം ഒരു പരീക്ഷണമാകയാൽ)
أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْكَهْفِ وَٱلرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا۟ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا عَجَبًا﴿٩﴾
[AND SINCE the life of this world is but a test,] dost thou [really] think that [the parable of] the Men of the Cave and of [their devotion to] the scriptures could be deemed more wondrous than any [other] of Our messages?
ഗുഹാവാസികളും(ഗുണപാഠകഥയും) വേദഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളും (അവയോടുള്ള അവരുടെ ഭക്തി താൽപര്യവും) നമ്മുടെ (മറ്റു) ഏതു സന്ദേശങ്ങളെക്കാളും ഏറെ അദ്ഭുതാവഹമായി നീ കരുതുന്നുവോ?
إِذْ أَوَى ٱلْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى ٱلْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةًۭ وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًۭا﴿١٠﴾
When those youths took refuge in the cave, they prayed: "O our Sustainer! Bestow on us grace from Thyself, and endow us, whatever our [outward] condition, with consciousness of what is right!"
ആ യുവാക്കൾ ഗുഹയിൽ അഭയം തേടിയ നേരം പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു “ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥാ, നിന്നില്നിന്നുള്ള കാരുണ്യം ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് നീ അരുളേണമേ! ഞങ്ങളുടെ (ബാഹ്യ) അവസ്ഥകൾ എന്തുതന്നെയായാലും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് സത്യം ഏതെന്ന ബോധ്യം പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യണേ!’.
فَضَرَبْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ فِى ٱلْكَهْفِ سِنِينَ عَدَدًۭا﴿١١﴾
And thereupon We veiled their ears in the cave for many a year,
അതേ ഗുഹയിൽ നിരവധി വർഷങ്ങളോളം അവരുടെ കാതുകൾക്ക് നാം മറയിട്ടു.
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ أَىُّ ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ أَحْصَىٰ لِمَا لَبِثُوٓا۟ أَمَدًۭا﴿١٢﴾
and then We awakened them: [and We did all this] so that We might mark out [to the world] which of the two points of view showed a better comprehension of the time-span during which they had remained in this state.
പിന്നീട് നാമവരെ ഉണർത്തി: തങ്ങൾ നില കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഈ അവസ്ഥയുടെ കാലയളവിനെ കൃത്യമായി തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് ഇരു കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളിൽ ഏതിനാണ് സാധിച്ചതെന്ന് (ലോകത്തിന്) വേർതിരിച്ച് കൊടുക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ് (നാം ഇതൊക്കെ ചെയ്തത്)
نَّحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ نَبَأَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ فِتْيَةٌ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَزِدْنَٰهُمْ هُدًۭى﴿١٣﴾
[And now] We shall truly relate to thee their story: Behold, they were young men who had attained to faith in their Sustainer: and [so] We deepened their consciousness of the right way
തീർച്ചയായും അവരുടെ കഥ നാം നിനക്ക് പറഞ്ഞു തരാം. തീർച്ചയായും തങ്ങളുടെ നാഥനിൽ വിശ്വാസമാർജിച്ചെടുത്ത യുവാക്കളായിരുന്നു അവർ: (അതുകൊണ്ട്) നേർമാർഗത്തെ പറ്റിയുള്ള അവരുടെ അവധാരണശേഷിക്ക് നാം ആഴം കൂട്ടി.
وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ إِذْ قَامُوا۟ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَن نَّدْعُوَا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَٰهًۭا ۖ لَّقَدْ قُلْنَآ إِذًۭا شَطَطًا﴿١٤﴾
and endowed their hearts with strength, so that they stood up and said [to one another]: "Our Sustainer is the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. Never shall we invoke any deity other than Him: [if we did,] we should indeed have uttered an enormity!
അവരുടെ മനസ്സുകളെ നാം നിശ്ചയദാര്ഢ്യമുള്ളതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്ന് (തമ്മിൽ) പറഞ്ഞു: “ആകാശ ഭൂമികളുടെ നാഥനാണ് നമ്മുടെ നാഥൻ. അവനല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ഒരു ദൈവത്തെയും നാം വിളിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുകയില്ല: അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് ഞങ്ങള് വലിയ അധര്മ്മം പറഞ്ഞവരായി പോകും.”
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمُنَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭ ۖ لَّوْلَا يَأْتُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۭ بَيِّنٍۢ ۖ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا﴿١٥﴾
These people of ours have taken to worshipping [other] deities instead of Him, without being able to adduce any reasonable evidence in support of their beliefs; and who could be more wicked than he who invents a lie about God?
തങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപോൽബലകമായി യുക്തിപൂർവമായ തെളിവുകൾ എടുത്തുകാട്ടാൻ കഴിയാതിരിക്കെ നമ്മുടെ ഈ ജനത അവനെ വെടിഞ്ഞ് ഇതര ദൈവങ്ങളെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നവർ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവത്തെ പറ്റി കള്ളം ചമക്കുന്നവനേക്കാള് അധര്മ്മി ആരുണ്ട്?
وَإِذِ ٱعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ فَأْوُۥٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلْكَهْفِ يَنشُرْ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ وَيُهَيِّئْ لَكُم مِّنْ أَمْرِكُم مِّرْفَقًۭا﴿١٦﴾
Hence, now that you have withdrawn from them and from all that they worship instead of God, take refuge in that cave: God will spread His grace over you, and will endow you - whatever your [outward] condition - with all that your souls may need!
അവരെയും ദൈവം ഒഴികെ അവര് ആരാധിച്ച് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനെയും നിങ്ങള് വെടിഞ്ഞ സ്ഥിതിക്ക് നിങ്ങള് ആ ഗുഹയില് അഭയം പ്രാപിച്ച് കൊള്ളുക. നിങ്ങളുടെ നാഥന് അവന്റെ കാരുണ്യം ചൊരിഞ്ഞു തരും. നിങ്ങളുടെ (ബാഹ്യ) അവസ്ഥകൾ എന്തുതന്നെയായാലും നിങ്ങളുടെ- ആത്മാവുകൾക്ക് ആവശ്യമാവുന്നതെല്ലാം അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകും.
۞ وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَٰوَرُ عَن كَهْفِهِمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقْرِضُهُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَهُمْ فِى فَجْوَةٍۢ مِّنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ وَلِيًّۭا مُّرْشِدًۭا﴿١٧﴾
And [for many a year] thou might have seen the sun, on its rising, incline away from their cave on the right, and, on its setting, turn aside from them on the left, while they lived on in that spacious chamber, [bearing witness to] this of God's messages: He whom God guides, he alone has found the right way; whereas for him whom He lets go astray thou canst never find any protector who would point out the right way.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഈ സന്ദേശങ്ങൾക്ക് (സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ): ഗുഹയുടെ വിശാലമായ ഒരു ഭാഗത്ത് അവർ ജീവിക്കെ, അതിന്റെ അസ്തമയ സമയത്ത് സൂര്യൻ അവരുടെ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് ഇടത്തോട്ടും ഉദയ സമയത്ത് സൂര്യൻ അവരുടെ ഗുഹ വിട്ട് വലത്തോട്ടും ദിശ മാറുന്നതും (അനേക വർഷങ്ങളോളം) നീ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാകും: ദൈവം ആർക്ക് വഴികാട്ടുന്നുവോ, അവൻ മാത്രമാണ് നേർമാർഗം കണ്ടെത്തിയത്; അവൻ വഴിപിഴക്കാൻ വിടുന്നവന് നേർമാർഗം കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരു രക്ഷകനെയും നിനക്ക് കണ്ടെത്താനാവില്ല.
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًۭا وَهُمْ رُقُودٌۭ ۚ وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ ۖ وَكَلْبُهُم بَٰسِطٌۭ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِٱلْوَصِيدِ ۚ لَوِ ٱطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِرَارًۭا وَلَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْبًۭا﴿١٨﴾
And thou wouldst have thought that they were awake, whereas they lay asleep. And We caused them to turn over repeatedly, now to the right, now to the left; and their dog [lay] on the threshold, its forepaws outstretched. Hadst thou come upon them [unprepared], thou wouldst surely have turned away from them in flight, and wouldst surely have been filled with awe of them.
അവർ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കുന്നവരായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് നീ ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുക പക്ഷേ അവർ ഉറങ്ങി കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരുവേള വലത്തും മറ്റൊരു വേള ഇടതുമായി നാം അവരെ നിരന്തരം മറിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ നായ ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത് അതിന്റെ മുൻകാലുകൾ നീട്ടിയ നിലയിൽ (കിടന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്). നീ അവരെ (ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ ഒന്നുമില്ലാതെ അവിചാരിതമായി) കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ തീർച്ചയായും അവരിൽ നിന്നും നീ ഒാടിയകലുമായിരുന്നു. അവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഭയത്താൽ വിഹ്വലനാവുകയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ لِيَتَسَآءَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ قَالَ قَآئِلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍۢ ۚ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا لَبِثْتُمْ فَٱبْعَثُوٓا۟ أَحَدَكُم بِوَرِقِكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَنظُرْ أَيُّهَآ أَزْكَىٰ طَعَامًۭا فَلْيَأْتِكُم بِرِزْقٍۢ مِّنْهُ وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ وَلَا يُشْعِرَنَّ بِكُمْ أَحَدًا﴿١٩﴾
And so, [in the course of time,] We awakened them; and they began to ask one another [as to what had happened to them]. One of them asked: "How long have you remained thus?" [The others] answered: "We have remained thus a day, or part of a day." Said they [who were endowed with deeper insight]: "Your Sustainer knows best how long you have thus remained. Let, then, one of you go with these silver coins to the town, and let him find out what food is purest there, and bring you thereof [some] provisions. But let him behave with great care and by no means make anyone aware of you:
അങ്ങനെ (ക്രമേണ) നാം അവരെ ഉണർത്തി (തങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് സംഭവിച്ചു എന്ന്) അവർ പരസ്പരം ചോദിക്കാൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു “എത്രകാലം ഇങ്ങനെ നാം കഴിഞ്ഞു?” എന്ന് അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ ചോദിച്ചു. “ഒരു ദിവസമോ അതിന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗമോ നാമിങ്ങനെ കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് (മറ്റുള്ളവർ) പ്രതിവചിച്ചു. (അഗാധമായ ഉൾക്കാഴ്ച ലഭിച്ച) അവർ പറഞ്ഞു “നിങ്ങൾ ഇങ്ങനെ എത്ര കാലം അവശേഷിച്ചു എന്ന് നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന് നന്നായി അറിയാം. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ വെള്ളിനാണയങ്ങളും ആയി നിങ്ങളിലൊരാൾ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്ക് പോകട്ടെ. അവിടെയുള്ള ഏറ്റവും ശുദ്ധമായത് ഏത് ഭക്ഷണമാണെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തുകയും അവിടെ നിന്ന് (അൽപം) ഭക്ഷണവസ്തുക്കൾ അവൻ കൊണ്ടുവരികയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ. എങ്കിലും അവൻ ഏറ്റവും ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ പെരുമാറുകയും ഒരു വിധേനയും നിങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി ഒരാളെയും ബോധവാന്മാരാക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.”
إِنَّهُمْ إِن يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ يَرْجُمُوكُمْ أَوْ يُعِيدُوكُمْ فِى مِلَّتِهِمْ وَلَن تُفْلِحُوٓا۟ إِذًا أَبَدًۭا﴿٢٠﴾
for, behold, if they should come to know of you, they might stone you to death or force you back to their faith - in which case you would never attain to any good!"
“കാരണം തീർച്ചയായും അവർ നിങ്ങളെ പറ്റി മനസ്സിലാക്കിയാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളെ എറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലുകയോ അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിലേക്ക് നിർബന്ധിച്ചു മടക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തിരിക്കും -അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചാല് ഒരു നന്മയിലേക്കും നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നെത്തുകയില്ല!”
