الٓمٓ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Mim.
അലിഫ് ലാം മീം
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًۭى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ﴿٢﴾
HIS DIVINE WRIT - let there be no doubt about it is [meant to be] a guidance for all the God- conscious
ഇത് അവങ്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള വിശുദ്ധ വേദമാകുന്നു. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് സംശയമേയില്ല. ദൈവബോധമുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കും മാർഗദർശകമായിട്ടുള്ളതാണിത്.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ﴿٣﴾
who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance;
മനുഷ്യദൃഷ്ടിക്ക് ഗോചരമല്ലാത്തവയിൽ (അവയുടെ അസ്തിത്വത്തിൽ) വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരും നമസ്കാരം നിലനിർത്തുന്നവരും നാം അവർക്ക് നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ള വിഭവങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റുള്ളവർക്കായി ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നവരുമാണവർ.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ﴿٤﴾
and who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, [O Prophet,] as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time: for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come!
(നബിയേ,) നിനക്ക് അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് അവതീർണമായതിലും നിനക്ക് മുമ്പ് അവതീർണമായവയിലും വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരാണവർ. അവരാണ് വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജീവിതത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ദൃഢബോധ്യമുള്ളവർ.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًۭى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ﴿٥﴾
It is they who follow the guidance [which comes] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state!
അവരാണ് തങ്ങളുടെ നാഥങ്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള മാർഗദർശനം പിന്തുടരുന്നവർ. അവർ തന്നെയാകുന്നു സന്തോഷം കൈവരിക്കുന്നവർ.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿٦﴾
BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe.
സത്യം നിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചേടത്തോളം നീ അവർക്ക് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകുന്നതും നൽകാതിരിക്കുന്നതും തുല്യമാകുന്നു. അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കുകയില്ല.
خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌۭ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ﴿٧﴾
God; has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and awesome suffering awaits them.
അവരുടെ മനസ്സുകൾക്കും കാതിനും ദൈവം മുദ്രവെച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അവരുടെ ദൃഷ്ടികളിലും ഒരു ആവരണമുണ്ട്. ഭയാവഹമായ ശിക്ഷ അവരെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿٨﴾
And there are people who say, "We do believe in God and the Last Day," the while they do not [really] believe.
ഞങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിലും അന്ത്യദിനത്തിലും വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് പറയുന്ന ചില ആളുകളുണ്ട്; (യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ) അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല.
يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿٩﴾
They would deceive God and those who have attained to faith - the while they deceive none but themselves, and perceive it not.
ദൈവത്തെയും വിശ്വാസികളെയും വഞ്ചിക്കുവാനാണ് അവർ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്. (വാസ്തവത്തിൽ) അവർ അവരെത്തന്നെയാണ് വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നത്. അവരത് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല.
فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ﴿١٠﴾
In their hearts is disease, and so God lets their disease increase; and grievous suffering awaits them because of their persistent lying.
അവരുടെ മനസ്സുകളിൽ ഒരുതരം രോഗമുണ്ട്. തന്നിമിത്തം ദൈവം ആ രോഗം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. കള്ളം പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നതിന്റെ ഫലമായി വേദനയേറിയ ശിക്ഷയാണ് അവരെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ﴿١١﴾
And when they are told, "Do not spread corruption on earth," they answer, "We are but improving things!"
നിങ്ങൾ നാട്ടിൽ കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കാതിരിക്കൂ എന്ന് അവരോട് ആരെങ്കിലും പറഞ്ഞാൽ, ഞങ്ങൾ കാര്യങ്ങൾ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുക മാത്രമാണല്ലോ ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്നായിരിക്കും അവരുടെ മറുപടി.
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿١٢﴾
Oh, verily, it is they, they who are spreading corruption - but they perceive it not?
എന്നാൽ യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ അവർ തന്നെയാകുന്നു കുഴപ്പം പരത്തുന്നവർ. പക്ഷെ, അവരത് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ﴿١٣﴾
And when they are told, "Believe as other people believe," they answer, "Shall we believe as the weak-minded believe?" Oh, verily, it is they, they who are weak-minded - but they know it not!
മറ്റുള്ളവർ വിശ്വസിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും വിശ്വസിക്കൂ എന്ന് അവരോട് ആരെങ്കിലും പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഈ മൂഢന്മാർ വിശ്വസിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളും വിശ്വസിക്കുകയോ എന്നായിരിക്കും അവർ മറുപടി പറയുക. എന്നാൽ യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ അവർ തന്നെയാകുന്നു മൂഢന്മാർ. പക്ഷെ, അവരത് അറിയുന്നില്ല.
وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ﴿١٤﴾
And when they meet those who have attained to faith, they assert, "We believe [as you believe]"; but when they find themselves alone with their evil impulses, they say, "Verily, we are with you; we were only mocking!"
വിശ്വാസികളെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമ്പോൾ അവർ പറയും; (നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിച്ചതുപോലെ) ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ചോദനകളുമായി തനിച്ചാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ പറയും: ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം തന്നെയാകുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾ (അവരെ) പരിഹസിക്കുക മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.
ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ﴿١٥﴾
God will requite them for their mockery, and will leave them for a while in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro:
എന്നാൽ ദൈവമാകട്ടെ, അവരുടെ പരിഹാസത്തിന് പകരം ചെയ്യുകയും, ധിക്കാരം നിറഞ്ഞ അഹങ്കാരത്തിൽ വിഹരിക്കുവാൻ അൽപകാലം അവരെ അയച്ചുവിടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ﴿١٦﴾
[for] it is they who have taken error in exchange for guidance; and neither has their bargain brought them gain, nor have they found guidance [elsewhere].
സന്മാർഗം വിറ്റ് പകരം ദുർമാർഗം വാങ്ങിയവരാണവർ. എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ കച്ചവടം ലാഭകരമായില്ല, ഒരിക്കലും നേർവഴിയിലായതുമില്ല.
مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًۭا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍۢ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ﴿١٧﴾
Their parable is that of people who kindle a fire: but as soon as it has illumined all around them, God takes away their light and leaves them in utter darkness, wherein they cannot see:
തീ കത്തിച്ച ഒരു കൂട്ടരോടാകുന്നു അവരെ ഉപമിക്കാവുന്നത്: പരിസരമാകെ പ്രകാശിതമായപ്പോൾ ദൈവം അവരുടെ പ്രകാശം കെടുത്തിക്കളയുകയും ഒന്നും കാണാനാവാതെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ (തപ്പാൻ) അവരെ വിടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌۭ فَهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ﴿١٨﴾
deaf, dumb, blind - and they cannot turn back.
ബധിരരും ഊമകളും അന്ധന്മാരുമാകുന്നു അവർ. അതിനാൽ അവർക്ക് തിരിച്ചു വരാനാവില്ല.
أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٌۭ وَرَعْدٌۭ وَبَرْقٌۭ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطٌۢ بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ﴿١٩﴾
Or [the parable] of a violent cloudburst in the sky, with utter darkness, thunder and lightning: they put their fingers into their ears to keep out the peals of thunder, in terror of death; but God encompasses [with His might] all who deny the truth.
അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ചൊരിയുന്ന ഒരു പേമാരിയോടാകുന്നു (അവരെ) ഉപമിക്കാവുന്നത്. അതോടൊപ്പം കൂരിരുട്ടും ഇടിയും മിന്നലുമുണ്ട്. ഇടിനാദങ്ങൾ നിമിത്തം മരണം ഭയന്ന് അവർ വിരലുകൾ ചെവിയിൽ തിരുകുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ദൈവം സത്യനിഷേധികളെ വലയം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
يَكَادُ ٱلْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا۟ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا۟ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ﴿٢٠﴾
The lightning well-nigh takes away their sight; whenever it gives them light, they advance therein, and whenever darkness falls around them, they stand still. And if God so willed, He could indeed take away their hearing and their sight: for, verily, God has the power to will anything.
മിന്നൽ അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചയെ റാഞ്ചിയെടുക്കുമാറാകുന്നു. അത് (മിന്നൽ) അവർക്ക് വെളിച്ചം നൽകുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം അവർ ആ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നടന്നു പോകും. ഇരുട്ടാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ നിന്നു പോകുകയും ചെയ്യും. ദൈവം ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവരുടെ കേൾവിയും കാഴ്ചയും അവൻ തീരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. നിസ്സംശയം ദൈവം ഏത് കാര്യത്തിനും കഴിവുള്ളവനാണ്.
