الٓمٓ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Mim.
അലിഫ്, ലാം, മീം.
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ﴿٢﴾
DO MEN THINK that on their [mere] saying, "We have attained to faith", they will be left to themselves, and will not be put to a test?
‘ഞങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് [വെറുതെ] പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രം അവരെ സ്വന്തത്തിന് വിടുമെന്നും പരീക്ഷണവിധേയരാക്കുകയില്ലെന്നും മനുഷ്യന് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ﴿٣﴾
Yea, indeed, We did test those who lived before them; and so, [too, shall be tested the people now living: and] most certainly will God mark out those who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He mark out those who are lying.
നിശ്ചയം, അവര്ക്ക് മുമ്പുള്ളവരെ നാം ശിക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്; [ഇപ്പോള് ജീവിക്കുന്നവരെയും പരീക്ഷിക്കും] അങ്ങനെ, സത്യവാന്മാരാരാണ് എന്ന് ദൈവം കണ്ടെത്തും, കളവു പറയുന്നവരെയും അവന് കണ്ടെത്തും.
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ﴿٤﴾
Or do they think - they who do evil deeds [while claiming to have attained to faith] - that they can escape Us? Bad, indeed, is their judgment!
അവര് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ- [വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ട്] ദുഷ്ചെയ്തികള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവര്- അവര്ക്ക് നമ്മില് നിന്നും രക്ഷപ്പെടാമെന്ന്? നിശ്ചയം അവരുടെ വിധിതീര്പ്പ് ചീത്ത തന്നെ!
مَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَءَاتٍۢ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ﴿٥﴾
Whoever looks forward [with hope and awe] to meeting God [on Resurrection Day, let him be ready for it]: for, behold, the end set by God [for everyone's life] is bound to come - and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing!
ദൈവത്തെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമെന്ന [പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ] ആര് മുന്നോട്ട് നീങ്ങുന്നുവോ [ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പ്പ് നാളില്, അവനതിന് തയ്യാറാവട്ടെ]: നിശ്ചയം, [എല്ലാവര്ക്കുമായി] ദൈവം നിശ്ചയിച്ച അന്ത്യം വന്നെത്തുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും- അവന് മാത്രമാകുന്നു എല്ലാം കേള്ക്കുന്നവനും, എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവനും!
وَمَن جَٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَٰهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿٦﴾
Hence, whoever strives hard [in God's cause] does so only for his own good: for, verily, God does not stand in need of anything in all the worlds!
ആരെങ്കിലും [ദൈവമാര്ഗത്തില്] പോരാടിയാല്, അവന് സ്വന്തം നല്ലതിന് വേണ്ടിയാകുന്നു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നത്: നിശ്ചയം, പ്രപഞ്ചങ്ങളിലുള്ള ഒന്നും തന്നെ ദൈവത്തിന് സഹായമായി ആവശ്യമില്ല!
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ﴿٧﴾
And as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, We shall most certainly efface their [previous] bad deeds, and shall most certainly reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did.
വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും, സല്ക്കര്മങ്ങള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവര്, അവരുടെ [കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയ] പാപങ്ങളെ നാം മായ്ച്ചുകളയും, അവര് ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതിനെല്ലാം ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പ്രതിഫലവും നല്കും.
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًۭا ۖ وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ ۚ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿٨﴾
Now [among the best of righteous deeds which] We have enjoined upon man [is] goodness towards his parents; yet [even so,] should they endeavour to make thee ascribe divinity, side by side with Me, to something which thy mind cannot accept [as divine], obey them not: [for] it is unto Me that you all must return, whereupon I shall make you [truly] understand [the right and wrong of] all that you were doing [in life].
[സല്ക്കര്മങ്ങളില് ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതായി] നാം മനുഷ്യര്ക്ക് നിര്ദേശിച്ചത് മാതാപിതാക്കളോട് നന്മ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുവാനാകുന്നു; [ദൈവികമെന്ന്] നീ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്ത മറ്റെന്തിനെയെങ്കിലും നമ്മോടൊപ്പം ദൈവികതയില് പങ്കാളികളാക്കാന് അവര് നിന്നെ നിര്ബന്ധിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില്, അവരെ അനുസരിക്കരുത്: നമ്മിലേക്കാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളെല്ലാം മടക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്, അപ്പോള്, [ജീവിതത്തില്] നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടിയതിന്റെ [തെറ്റും ശരിയും] എല്ലാം നാം നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കിത്തരും.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ﴿٩﴾
But as for those who have attained to faith and have done righteous deeds, We shall most certainly cause them to join the righteous [in the hereafter as well].
വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും സല്ക്കര്മങ്ങള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവര്, അവരെ നാം പരലോകത്തും] സജ്ജനങ്ങളില് ഉള്പ്പെടുത്തും.
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿١٠﴾
NOW THERE IS among men many a one who says [of himself and of others like him], "We do believe in God" - but whenever he is made to suffer in God's cause, he thinks that persecution at the hands of man is as [much to be feared, or even more than,] God's chastisement; whereas, if succour from thy Sustainer comes [to those who truly believe], he is sure to say, "Behold, we have always been with you!" Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures?
മനുഷ്യരില് ചിലര് [സ്വന്തത്തോടും മറ്റുള്ളവരോടും] പറയുന്നു, ‘ഞങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു’- എന്നാല് ദൈവമാര്ഗത്തില് അവര് കഷ്ടതയനുഭവിക്കുമ്പോള്, മനുഷ്യകരങ്ങളാലുള്ള പീഠനം ദൈവിക ശിക്ഷ [പോലെയോ അതിനെക്കാളധികമോ] ആണെന്ന് അയാള് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു: എന്നാല്, [വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവര്ക്ക്’ നിന്റെ നാഥങ്കല് നിന്നുള്ള സഹായം വന്നെത്തിയാല്, അവന് ഉറപ്പായും പറയും, ‘നിശ്ചയം, ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള്ക്കൊപ്പമാണ്’. എല്ലാ സൃഷ്ടികളുടെയും ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലുള്ളത് ദൈവം നന്നായറിയുന്നില്ലേ?
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ﴿١١﴾
[Yea -] and most certainly will God mark out those who have [truly] attained to faith, and most certainly will He mark out the hypocrites.
[അതെ-] വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് ആരാണെന്ന് ദൈവം അറിയുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും, കപടവിശ്വാസികളെയും അവന് കണ്ടെത്തുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَٰيَٰكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَٰمِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَٰيَٰهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ﴿١٢﴾
And [He is aware, too, that] they who are bent on denying the truth speak [thus, as it were,] to those who have attained to faith: "Follow our way [of life], and we shall indeed take your sins upon ourselves!" But never could they take upon themselves aught of the sins of those [whom they would thus mislead]: behold, they are liars indeed!
അവിശ്വാസികള് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരോട് പറയും: ‘ഞങ്ങളുടെ [ജീവിത] വഴി പിന്തുടരുക, ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റെടുത്തുകൊള്ളാം!’ എന്നാല് അവര്ക്ക് [അവര് വഴിപിഴപ്പിക്കുന്നവരുടെ] പാപങ്ങള് ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന് കഴിയില്ല: നിശ്ചയം, അവര് കളവ് പറയുന്നവരാകുന്നു!
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًۭا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ﴿١٣﴾
Yet most certainly will they have to bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and most certainly will they be called to account on Resurrection Day for all their false assertions!
അവര്ക്ക് തങ്ങളുടേ തന്നെ ഭാരങ്ങള് ചുമക്കേണ്ടി വരും, അവരുടേതല്ലാത്ത ഭാരങ്ങളും, അവര് കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ചതിനെല്ലാം ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പ്പ് നാളില് അവര് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യപ്പെടു!
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًۭا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ﴿١٤﴾
AND, INDEED, [in times long past] We sent forth Noah unto his people, and he dwelt among them a thousand years bar fifty; and then the floods overwhelmed them while they were still lost in evildoing:
നിശ്ചയം, [ഭൂതകാലത്ത്] നാം നോഹയെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനതയിലേക്കയച്ചു അവര്ക്കിടയില് അദ്ദേഹം തൊള്ളായിരത്തി അമ്പത് കൊല്ലം ജീവിച്ചു; അവര് അക്രമകാരികളായിരിക്കെ പ്രളയം അവരെ പിടികൂടി
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَصْحَٰبَ ٱلسَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿١٥﴾
but We saved him, together with all who were in the ark, which We then set up as a symbol [of Our grace] for all people [to remember].
എന്നാല് നാം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി, കപ്പലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന മറ്റുള്ളവയോടൊപ്പം, അങ്ങനെയതിനെ ലോകര്ക്ക് [നമ്മുടെ കാരുണ്യത്തിന്റെ] ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമാക്കി.
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ﴿١٦﴾
AND ABRAHAM, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: "Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it!
അബ്രഹാം, [അദ്ദേഹത്തിനും നാം വെളിപാട് നല്കി] അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ജനതയോട് പറഞ്ഞ സന്ദര്ഭം: ‘ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിക്കുക, അവനോട് ഭക്തി പുലര്ത്തുക: ഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഉത്തമം, നിങ്ങള് അത് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നെങ്കില്!
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَٰنًۭا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًۭا فَٱبْتَغُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرِّزْقَ وَٱعْبُدُوهُ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لَهُۥٓ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿١٧﴾
You worship only [lifeless] idols instead of God, and [thus] you give visible shape to a lie! Behold, those [things and beings] that you worship instead of God have it not in their power to provide sustenance for you: seek, then, all [your] sustenance from God, and worship Him [alone) and be grateful to Him: [for] unto Him you shall be brought back!
നിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന് പകരം [ജീവനില്ലാത്ത] ബിംബങ്ങളെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു, നിങ്ങള് കള്ളങ്ങളെ ചമച്ചുണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു!, ദൈവത്തിന് പകരം നിങ്ങള് ആരാധിക്കുന്ന [വസ്തുക്കള്ക്കും ജീവികള്ക്കും] നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് വിഭവങ്ങള് നല്കാന് കഴിയില്ല, അവനെ [മാത്രം] ആരാധിക്കുക അവനോട് നന്ദി കാണിക്കു: അവനിലേക്കാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മടക്കം!
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا۟ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ﴿١٨﴾
"And if ydu give [me) the lie - well, [other) communities have given the lie (to God's prophets) before your time: but no more is an apostle bound to do than clearly deliver the message [entrusted to him]."
നിങ്ങള് [നമ്മെ] കളവാക്കുകയാണെങ്കില്- നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് മുമ്പ് [മറ്റു] സമുദായങ്ങളും [ദൈവദൂതന്മാരെ] കളവാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്: വ്യക്തമായും സന്ദേശങ്ങള് എത്തിച്ചുതരിക എന്നത് മാത്രമാകുന്നു ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ ദൗത്യം.’
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ﴿١٩﴾
ARE, THEN, they [who deny the truth] not aware of how God creates (life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew? This, verily, is easy for God!
[സത്യനിഷേധികള്] അറിയുന്നില്ലേ ദൈവം ആദ്യത്തില് [ജീവിതം] സൃഷ്ടിച്ചുവെന്നും പീന്നീടത് ആവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും? നിശ്ചയം, ഇത് ദൈവത്തിന് എളുപ്പമുള്ളതാകുന്നു
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ﴿٢٠﴾
Say: "Go all over the earth and behold how [wondrously) He has created [man) in the first instance: and thus, too, will God bring into being your second life - for, verily, God has the power to will anything!
പറയുക: ‘ഭൂമിയിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുക, എങ്ങനെയാണ് അവന് [മനുഷ്യനെ] ആദ്യത്തില് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നറിയാന്: നിങ്ങളെ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ദൈവം രണ്ടാം ജന്മത്തിലേക്കെത്തിക്കുന്നത് എന്നും- നിശ്ചയം, ദൈവം എല്ലാത്തിനും കഴിവുള്ളവനാകുന്നു!
