الٓمٓ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Mim.
അലിഫ് ലാം മീം.
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ﴿٢﴾
GOD - there is no deity save Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsistent Fount of All Being!
ദൈവം – അവനല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല. എന്നെന്നും നിലനിൽക്കുന്നവൻ, പരാശ്രയമില്ലാത്തവൻ.
نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ﴿٣﴾
Step by step has He bestowed upon thee from on high this divine writ, setting forth the truth which confirms whatever there still remains [of earlier revelations]: for it is He who has bestowed from on high the Torah and the Gospel
അവൻ സത്യവുമായി ഈ വേദഗ്രന്ഥത്തെ പടിപടിയായി നിനക്ക് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, (മുൻ വേദങ്ങളിൽ) ഇപ്പോഴും അവശേഷിക്കുന്നവയെ ശരിവെച്ചുകൊണ്ട്; അവനാണ് തോറയും സുവിശേഷവും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്.
مِن قَبْلُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۭ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌۭ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ﴿٤﴾
aforetime, as a guidance unto mankind, and it is He who has bestowed [upon man] the standard by which to discern the true from the false. Behold, as for those who are bent on denying God's messages - grievous suffering awaits them: for God is almighty, an avenger of evil.
മനുഷ്യർക്ക് മാർഗദർശനത്തിനായി മുമ്പ് സത്യാസത്യവിവേചനത്തിനുള്ള പ്രമാണവും അവൻ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. തീർച്ചയായും ദിവ്യസന്ദേശങ്ങൾ നിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് കഠിനമായ ശിക്ഷയാണുള്ളത്. ദൈവം സർവശക്തനും ദുഷ്ടരോട് പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുന്നവനുമാകുന്നു.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ﴿٥﴾
Verily, nothing on earth or in the heavens is hidden from God.
ഭൂമിയിലോ ആകാശത്തോ ഉള്ള യാതൊന്നും ദൈവത്തിന് മറഞ്ഞുപോവുന്നില്ല.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿٦﴾
He it is who shapes you in the wombs as He wills. There is no deity save Him, the Almighty, the Truly Wise.
അവനാകുന്നു ഗർഭാശയങ്ങളിൽ താൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന വിധത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് രൂപം നൽകുന്നവൻ. അവനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ഉപാസനാമൂർത്തിയുമില്ല. അവൻ അജയ്യനും യുക്തിജ്ഞനുമാകുന്നു.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌۭ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌۭ ۖ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌۭ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّۭ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ﴿٧﴾
He it is who has bestowed upon thee from on high this divine writ, containing messages that are clear in and by themselves - and these are the essence of the divine writ - as well as others that are allegorical. Now those whose hearts are given to swerving from the truth go after that part of the divine writ which has been expressed in allegory, seeking out [what is bound to create] confusion, and seeking [to arrive at] its final meaning [in an arbitrary manner]; but none save God knows its final meaning. Hence, those who are deeply rooted in knowledge say: "We believe in it; the whole [of the divine writ] is from our Sustainer - albeit none takes this to heart save those who are endowed with insight.
സുവ്യക്തവും ഖണ്ഡിതവുമായ വചനങ്ങളുള്ള വേദഗ്രന്ഥം അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് നിനക്ക് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു തന്നത് അവനാകുന്നു. . അതാണ് വേദഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്റെ മൂലഘടകം. ആശയത്തിൽ സാദൃശ്യമുള്ള ചില വചനങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ മനസ്സുകളിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവർ ആശയക്കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചും ദുർവ്യാഖ്യാനം നടത്താൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചും ആശയത്തിൽ സാദൃശ്യമുള്ള വചനങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ സാക്ഷാൽ അർത്ഥം ദൈവത്തിന് മാത്രമേ അറിയുകയുള്ളൂ. അറിവിൽ അടിയുറച്ചവർ പറയും: “ഞങ്ങളതിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. എല്ലാം ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കൽ നിന്നുള്ളതാകുന്നു.” ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയുള്ളവർ മാത്രമേ ആലോചിച്ച് മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയുള്ളൂ.
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ﴿٨﴾
"O our Sustainer! Let not our hearts swerve from the truth after Thou hast guided us; and bestow upon us the gift of Thy grace: verily, Thou art the [true] Giver of Gifts.
(അവർ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും:) “ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥാ, ഞങ്ങളെ നീ സന്മാർഗത്തിലാക്കിയതിനു ശേഷം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സുകളെ നീ വ്യതിചലിപ്പിക്കരുതേ. നിന്റെ കാരുണ്യത്തിന്റെ പാരിതോഷികം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ നീ വർഷിക്കേണമേ. തീർച്ചയായും ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പാരിതോഷികങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നവൻ നീയാണല്ലോ.
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ﴿٩﴾
"O our Sustainer! Verily, Thou wilt gather mankind together to witness the Day about [the coming of] which there is no doubt: verily, God never fails to fulfil His promise."
“ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥാ, തീർച്ചയായും നീ ജനങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം ഒരു ദിവസം ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടുന്നതാകുന്നു. (ആ ദിനം വരുമെന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ) യാതൊരു സംശയവുമില്ല. തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം ഒരിക്കലും വാഗ്ദാനം പാലിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നില്ല.”
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ﴿١٠﴾
BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - neither their worldly possessions nor their offspring will in the least avail them against God; and it is they, they who shall be the fuel of the fire!
നിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവരുടെ സ്വത്തുക്കളോ സന്താനങ്ങളോ ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ യാതൊരു പ്രയോജനവും ചെയ്യുകയില്ല; തീർച്ച. അവർ നരകത്തിലെ ഇന്ധനമായിത്തീരുന്നതാകുന്നു.
كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ﴿١١﴾
[To them shall - happen] the like of what happened to Pharaoh's people and those who lived before them: they gave the lie to Our messages - and so God took them to task for their sins: for God is severe in retribution.
ഫറോവാ പ്രഭൃതികളുടെയും അവരുടെ മുൻഗാമികളുടെയും ഗതി തന്നെയാണവർക്കുമുള്ളത്. അവരൊക്കെ നമ്മുടെ സന്ദേശങ്ങളെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അതിനാൽ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ കാരണമായി ദൈവം അവരെ പിടികൂടി. ദൈവം കഠിനമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനാകുന്നു.
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ﴿١٢﴾
Say unto those who are bent on denying the truth: "You shall be overcome and gathered unto hell - and how evil a resting-place!"
സത്യത്തെ നിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നവരോട് നീ പറയുക: “നിങ്ങൾ പരാജയപ്പെടുന്നതും നരകത്തിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടത്തോടെ നയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമാണ്. അതെത്ര ദുഷിച്ച വിശ്രമസങ്കേതം!
قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌۭ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا ۖ فِئَةٌۭ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌۭ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ﴿١٣﴾
You have already had a sign in the two hosts that met in battle, one host fighting in God's cause and the other denying Him; with their own eyes [the former] saw the others as twice their own number: but God strengthens with His succour whom He wills. In this, behold, there is indeed a lesson for all who have eyes to see.
പരസ്പരം ഏറ്റുമുട്ടിയ ആ രണ്ട് വിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ തീർച്ചയായും നിങ്ങൾക്കൊരു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമുണ്ട്. ഒരു വിഭാഗം ദൈവമാർഗത്തിൽ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നു. മറുവിഭാഗമാകട്ടെ അവനെ നിഷേധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. (ആദ്യം പറഞ്ഞവർക്ക്) തങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ മറുവിഭാഗം തങ്ങളുടെ ഇരട്ടിയുണ്ടെന്നാണ് തോന്നിയിരുന്നത്. ദൈവം അവനിച്ഛിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് സഹായം നൽകുന്നു. തീർച്ചയായും കണ്ണുള്ളവർക്ക് അതിൽ ഒരു ഗുണപാഠമുണ്ട്.
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ﴿١٤﴾
ALLURING unto man is the enjoyment of worldly desires through women, and children, and heaped-up treasures of gold and silver, and horses of high mark, and cattle, and lands. All this may be enjoyed in the life of this world - but the most beauteous of all goals is with God.
സ്ത്രീകൾ, സന്താനങ്ങൾ, കൂമ്പാരമായിക്കൂട്ടിയ സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി, മേത്തരം കുതിരകൾ, നാൽക്കാലി വർഗങ്ങൾ, കൃഷിയിടം എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട വസ്തുക്കളോടുള്ള പ്രേമം മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ആകർഷകമാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. അതൊക്കെ ഇഹലോകജീവിതത്തിലെ വിഭവങ്ങളാകുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലാകുന്നു ഏറ്റവും കമനീയമായ ലക്ഷ്യസ്ഥാനം.
۞ قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍۢ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ﴿١٥﴾
Say: "Shall I tell you of better things than those [earthly joys]? For the God-conscious there are, with their Sustainer, gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide, and spouses pure, and God's goodly acceptance." And God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His servants -
പറയുക: “അതിനേക്കാൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉത്തമമായിട്ടുള്ളത് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുതരട്ടെയോ? ദൈവബോധമുള്ളവർക്ക് തങ്ങളുടെ നാഥന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അരുവികൾ ഒഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ആരാമങ്ങളുണ്ട്. അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രീതിയോടെ പരിശുദ്ധരായ ഇണകളോടൊപ്പം അവിടെ നിത്യവാസികളായിരിക്കും.” ദൈവം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം കണ്ടറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ﴿١٦﴾
those who say, "O our Sustainer! Behold, we believe [in Thee]; forgive us, then, our sins, and keep us safe from suffering through the fire" - :
അവർ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും: “ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥാ, ഞങ്ങളിതാ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ പൊറുത്തുതരികയും നരകശിക്ഷയിൽ നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണമേ.”
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ﴿١٧﴾
those who are patient in adversity, and true to their word, and truly devout, and who spend [in God's way], and pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts.
അവർ പ്രയാസഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ ക്ഷമ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവരും സത്യം പാലിക്കുന്നവരും ഭക്തിയുള്ളവരും (ദൈവമാർഗത്തിൽ) ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നവരും രാത്രിയുടെ അന്ത്യയാമങ്ങളിൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തട്ടി പാപമോചനം തേടുന്നവരുമാകുന്നു.
شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿١٨﴾
GOD [Himself] proffers evidence - and [so do] the angels and all who are endowed with knowledge - that there is no deity save Him, the Upholder of Equity: there is no deity save Him, the Almighty, the Truly Wise.
അവനല്ലാതെ ആരാധ്യനില്ലെന്ന് ദൈവം സ്വയം തെളിവ് നല്കുന്നു. നീതി നിർവഹിക്കുന്നവനായ അവനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ഈശ്വരനുമില്ലെന്ന് മലക്കുകളും ജ്ഞാനികളും തെളിവ് നല്കുന്നു. അവനല്ലാതെ ആരാധ്യനില്ല. അവൻ അജയ്യനും യുക്തിജ്ഞനുമാകുന്നു.
إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ﴿١٩﴾
Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ (യഥാർത്ഥമായ) ഒരേയൊരു മതം അവനുള്ള (മനുഷ്യന്റെ) ആത്മസമർപ്പണം ആണ്. വേദഗ്രന്ഥം നൽകപ്പെട്ടവർ ആഭ്യന്തരവൈരം നിമിത്തം ഭിന്ന മാർഗങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചത് തങ്ങൾക്ക് ജ്ഞാനം വന്നുകിട്ടിയ ശേഷം തന്നെയാണ്. ആരെങ്കിലും ദിവ്യസന്ദേശങ്ങൾ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ദൈവം അതിവേഗം കണക്ക് നോക്കുന്നവനാകുന്നു.
فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ﴿٢٠﴾
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
അവർ നിന്നോട് തർക്കിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ നീ പറയുക: “ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജീവിതം മുഴുവനും ദൈവസമക്ഷം സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
