الٓمٓ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Mim.
അലിഫ് ലാം മീം.
غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ﴿٢﴾
DEFEATED have been the Byzantines
ബൈസന്റൈന് തകര്ക്കപ്പെട്ടു
فِىٓ أَدْنَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ﴿٣﴾
in the lands close-by; yet it is they who, notwithstanding this their defeat, shall be victorious
അടുത്ത പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ളത്; ഈ പരാജയത്തിന് ശേഷം, അവര് വിജയം വരിക്കും
فِى بِضْعِ سِنِينَ ۗ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِنۢ بَعْدُ ۚ وَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَفْرَحُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴿٤﴾
within a few years: [for with God rests all power of decision, first and last. And on that day will the believers [too, have cause to] rejoice
കുറച്ച് വര്ഷങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളില്: ആദ്യത്തിലും അന്ത്യത്തിലും, തീരുമാനാവകാശം ദൈവത്തിന് മാത്രമാകുന്നു. അന്നേ ദിവസം വിശ്വാസി[കളും] ആനന്ദഭരിതരായിരിക്കും,
بِنَصْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿٥﴾
in God's succour: [for] He gives succour to whomever He wills, since He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഹായത്താല്; അവന് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവര്ക്ക് അവന് സഹായങ്ങളേകുന്നു, അവന് മാത്രമാകുന്നു പ്രതാപവാനും കാരുണ്യം ചൊരിയുന്നവനും.
وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴿٦﴾
[This is] God's promise. Never does God fail to fulfil His promise - but most people know [it] not:
[ഇത്] ദൈവത്തിങ്കല് നിന്നുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനമാകുന്നു- എന്നാല് അധികപേരും [അത്] അറിയുന്നില്ല:
يَعْلَمُونَ ظَٰهِرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ﴿٧﴾
they know but the outer surface of this world's life, whereas of the ultimate things they are utterly unaware.
അവര്ക്ക് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ബാഹ്യമായ മുഖം മാത്രമേ അറിയുകയുള്ളൂ, എന്നാല് പരമയാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അവര് ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവരാണ്.
أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم ۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّۭى ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَآئِ رَبِّهِمْ لَكَٰفِرُونَ﴿٨﴾
Have they never learned to think for themselves? God has not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth and a term set [by Him]: and yet, behold, there are many people who stubbornly deny the truth that they are destined to meet their Sustainer!
അവര് സ്വന്തത്തിനായി ചിന്തിക്കുന്നില്ലേ? ആകാശങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയും അവക്കിടയിലുള്ളതുമെല്ലാം ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, [ആന്തരിക] യാഥാര്ത്ഥ്യവും [അവനാല്] നിര്ണിതമായ നിയമവുമില്ലാതെ: നിശ്ചയം, തങ്ങളുടെ നാഥനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടവരേണ്ടവരാണ് തങ്ങള് എന്ന യാഥാര്ത്ഥ്യത്തെ ശക്തമായി നിരാകരിക്കുന്ന അധികപേരുമുണ്ട്!
أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًۭ وَأَثَارُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَآ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ﴿٩﴾
Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth and beheld what happened in the end to those [deniers of the truth] who lived before their time? Greater were they in power than they are; and they left a stronger impact on the earth, and built it up even better than these [are doing]; and to them [too] came their apostles with all evidence of the truth: and so, [when they rejected the truth and thereupon perished,] it was not God who wronged them, but it was they who had wronged themselves.
അവര് ഭൂമിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നില്ലേ, അവര്ക്ക് മുമ്പുള്ള [സത്യനിഷേധികളായ] ആളുകള്ക്ക് അവസാനം എന്താണ് സംഭവിച്ചതെന്നറിയാനായി? ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതിനേക്കാള് അധികം അധികാരം അവര്ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് ഭൂമിയില് വലിയ സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തി, ഇവരേക്കാള് നന്നായി അവര് പാര്പ്പിടങ്ങള് നിര്മിച്ചു; അവരിലേക്ക് ദൈവദൂതന്മാര് സത്യസാക്ഷ്യവുമായി ചെന്നെത്തി: അങ്ങനെ, [അവര് സത്യം നിരാകരിക്കുകയും, അതിന് ഫലമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു]ദൈവമായിരുന്നില്ല അവരോട് തിന്മ ചെയ്തത്, അവര് സ്വന്തത്തോട് തിന്മ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ أَن كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُوا۟ بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ﴿١٠﴾
And once again: evil is bound to be the end of those who do evil by giving the lie to God's messages and deriding them.
ഒരിക്കല് കൂടി: ദൈവിക സന്ദേശങ്ങളെ കളവാക്കിയും നിന്ദിച്ചും ദുഷ്ചെയ്തികള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ അവസാനം പാപം മൂടിക്കളയുന്നു.
ٱللَّهُ يَبْدَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿١١﴾
GOD CREATES [man] in the first instance, and then brings him forth anew: and, in the end, unto Him you all will be brought back.
ദൈവം [മനുഷ്യനെ] ആദ്യത്തില് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, എന്നിട്ടതിനെ പുതിയതാക്കി: പിന്നീട്, അന്ത്യത്തില്, നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അവനിലേക്ക് മടക്കപ്പെടും
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿١٢﴾
And when the Last Hour dawns, those who were lost in sin will be broken in spirit:
അന്ത്യനാള് വന്നെത്തിയാല്, പാപികള് നിരാശരാവും
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَآئِهِمْ شُفَعَٰٓؤُا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ كَٰفِرِينَ﴿١٣﴾
for they will have no intercessors in the beings to whom they were wont to ascribe a share in God's divinity, seeing that [by then] they themselves will have ceased to believe in their erstwhile blasphemous fancies.
അവര് ദൈവത്തില് പങ്കാളികളാക്കി വെച്ചിരുന്നവരില് ആരും അവര്ക്ക് ശിപാര്ശകരായി വരില്ല, [അപ്പോള്] അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാവനാത്മക ആരാധ്യരെ നിഷേധിച്ചു തള്ളുന്നവരാവും.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ﴿١٤﴾
And when the Last Hour dawns - on that Day will all [men] be sorted out:
അന്ത്യനാള് വന്നെത്തിയാല്- ആ ദിവസത്തില് എല്ലാ [മനുഷ്യരും] വിഭാഗങ്ങളാക്കപ്പെടും:
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَهُمْ فِى رَوْضَةٍۢ يُحْبَرُونَ﴿١٥﴾
as for those who attained to faith and did righteous deeds, they shall be made happy in a garden of delight;
വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും സല്ക്കര്മങ്ങള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവര്, അവര് പൂന്തോപ്പുകളില് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നവരാകും;
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآئِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ﴿١٦﴾
but as for those who refused to acknowledge the truth and gave the lie to Our messages - and [thus] to the announcement of a life to come - they will be given over to suffering.
സത്യത്തെ അംഗീകരിക്കാന് വിസമ്മതിക്കുകയും നമ്മുടെ സന്ദേശങ്ങളെ കളവാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവര്- വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജീവിതത്തെക്കുറിച്ച പ്രഖ്യാപനവും- കഠിന ശിക്ഷക്കായി ഹാജരാക്കപ്പെടും.
فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ﴿١٧﴾
EXTOL, then, God's limitless glory when you enter upon the evening hours, and when you rise at morn;
അപ്പോള്, പ്രദോഷങ്ങളിലും പ്രഭാതങ്ങളിലും നിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയെ വാഴ്ത്തുക;
وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّۭا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ﴿١٨﴾
and [seeing that] unto Him is due all praise in the heavens and on earth, [glorify Him] in the afternoon as well, and when you enter upon the hour of noon.
ആകാശ-ഭൂമികളിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം അവനു മാത്രമാകുന്നു സ്തുതി, മൂന്നാം യാമത്തിലും [അവനെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു], മദ്ധ്യാഹ്ന വേളയിലും.
يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَيُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ﴿١٩﴾
He (it is who] brings forth the living out of that which is dead, and brings forth the dead out of that which is alive, and gives life to the earth after it had been lifeless: and even thus will you be brought forth [from death to life].
നിർജീവമായതില് നിന്നും ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അവനാകുന്നു, ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതിനെ നിർജീവമാക്കുന്നതും അവനാകുന്നു, മൃത്യുവിലായിക്കഴിഞ്ഞതിന് ശേഷം ഭൂമിയെ അവന് സജീവമാക്കുന്നു: അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളെയും [മരണത്തില് നിന്നും ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക്] കൊണ്ട് പോകുന്നു.
وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌۭ تَنتَشِرُونَ﴿٢٠﴾
And among His wonders is this: He creates you out of dust - and then, lo! you become human beings ranging far and wide.
ഇത് അവന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളില് പെട്ടതാകുന്നു: അവന് നിങ്ങളെ മണ്ണില് നിന്നും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു, പിന്നീട് നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരായി ലോകത്ത് വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു.
