الٓمٓ﴿١﴾
Alif. Lam. Mim.
അലിഫ് ലാം മീം
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ﴿٢﴾
THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom,
ദിവ്യജ്ഞാനത്താല് സമ്പന്നമായ വേദപുസ്തകത്തിലെ സന്ദേശങ്ങളാണിവ.
هُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْمُحْسِنِينَ﴿٣﴾
providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good
നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്ക് സന്മാര്ഗദര്ശനവും അനുഗ്രഹവും പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നവ.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ﴿٤﴾
who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come!
നിത്യവും നമസ്കാരങ്ങളില് നിഷ്ഠരും ദാനപ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഏര്പ്പെടുന്നവരുമാാണവര്. തീര്ച്ചയായുമവര് അവര് തന്നെയാണ് ഇനി വരാനുള്ള ജീവിതത്തെപ്പറ്റി തങ്ങളുടെ അന്തരാളങ്ങളില് നിശ്ചയം ഉള്ളവര്.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًۭى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ﴿٥﴾
It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them) from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state!
തങ്ങളുടെ പാലകനില് നിന്നുമുള്ള (തങ്ങളിലേക്കെത്തുന്ന) സന്മാര്ഗദര്ശനത്തെ പിന്തുടരുന്നതവരാണ്, നിശ്ചയം അവര് തന്നെയാണ് ആനന്ദകരമായ ഒരു സ്ഥിതി കൈവരിക്കുന്നവര്.
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ﴿٦﴾
But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance], so as to lead [those) without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store.
ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാതെ (ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവരെ) ദൈവികമാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നും വഴിതെറ്റിക്കാനും അതിനെ പരിഹസിക്കാനും (ദൈവികമായ മാര്ഗ്ഗദര്ശനങ്ങള്ക്ക് പകരം) വാചികവിനോദങ്ങളെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരുപാട് പേരുണ്ട് മനുഷ്യരില്. തീര്ച്ചയായും അവരെയും കാത്ത് നിന്ദ്യമായ ശിക്ഷയിരിപ്പുണ്ട്.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِىٓ أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًۭا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ﴿٧﴾
For, whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a one, he turns away in his arrogance as though he had not heard them - as though there were deafness in his ears: give him, then, the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come].
ഇത്തരമൊരാളിലേക്ക് നമ്മുടെ സന്ദേശങ്ങള് കൈമാറപ്പെടുന്ന നേരം അഹങ്കാരത്താല് കേട്ടില്ലെന്ന മട്ടില് അയാള് തിരിഞ്ഞു കളയുന്നു - അയാളുടെ ചെവികള്ക്ക് ബധിരത ബാധിച്ച പോലെയുണ്ട്- (വരാന്പോകുന്ന ജീവിതത്തില്) അവര്ക്ക് കരുതപ്പെട്ട വേദനാജനകമായ ശിക്ഷയുടെ വൃത്താന്തം അവരെ അറിയിക്കുക.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتُ ٱلنَّعِيمِ﴿٨﴾
[As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss,
(ഇതിന് വിപരീതമായി) തീര്ച്ചയായും വിശ്വാസം കൈകൊള്ളുകയും നന്മ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്ക് സന്തോഷദായകമായ ഉദ്യാനങ്ങള് ഉണ്ട്.
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّۭا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿٩﴾
to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ യഥാര്ത്ഥ വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങള് പ്രകാരം സ്ഥിരമായി വസിക്കാന്. നിശ്ചയം അവന് മാത്രമാണ് ശക്തിശാലിയും യഥാര്ത്ഥ തന്ത്രജ്ഞനും.
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍۢ تَرَوْنَهَا ۖ وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍۢ ۚ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ﴿١٠﴾
He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth.
അവന് (ഒരുവന് തന്നെയാണ്) നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിപഥത്തില് വരുന്ന അവലംബങ്ങള് ഇല്ലാതെ ആകാശങ്ങളെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത് ഭൂമിക്ക് മുകളില് ഉറച്ച പര്വതങ്ങളെ നിര്ത്തിയതും അവനാണ് അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം അത് നിങ്ങളെയും കൊണ്ട് ആടിയുലയുമായിരുന്നു. എല്ലാ തരം ജീവജാലങ്ങളും അവിടെ പെരുകാനും കാരണമായത് അവനാണ്. ആകാശങ്ങളില് നിന്നും വെള്ളമിറക്കിയത് നാമാണ്. അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാ വിശിഷ്ട (ജീവ) വര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളും ഈ ഭൂമിയില് വളരാന് നാം ഹേതുവാകുന്നു.
هَٰذَا خَلْقُ ٱللَّهِ فَأَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦ ۚ بَلِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ﴿١١﴾
[All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error!
ഇവ (എല്ലാം) ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൃഷ്ടികളാണ്. അത് കൊണ്ട് അവന് അല്ലാത്തവര് പടച്ചത് എന്തെന്ന് എനിക്ക് കാണിച്ചു തരിക! ഇല്ല! ദുഷ്കര്മ്മികള് തികച്ചും വഴികേടിലാണ്.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا لُقْمَٰنَ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌۭ﴿١٢﴾
AND, INDEED, We granted this wisdom unto Luqman: "Be grateful unto God - for he who is grateful [unto Him] is but grateful for the good of his own self; whereas he who chooses to be ungrateful [ought to know that], verily, God is self-sufficient, ever to be praised!"
നാം തീര്ച്ചയായും ഈ തത്വജ്ഞാനത്തെ ലുഖ്മാന് നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു ദൈവത്തോട് നന്ദിയുള്ളവരാവുക- കാരണം (ദൈവത്തോട്) കൃതജ്ഞത ഉള്ളവന് തന്റെ തന്നെ നന്മക്കാണ് കൃതജ്ഞനാവുന്നത്. അതേ സമയം നന്ദിയില്ലാത്തവനാകാനുദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവന് (അറിയേണ്ടതുണ്ട്) തീര്ച്ചയായും ദൈവം സ്വയംപര്യാപ്തനും എന്നും സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുവനുമാണ്.
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَٰنُ لِٱبْنِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰبُنَىَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌۭ﴿١٣﴾
And, lo, Luqman spoke thus unto his son, admonishing him: "O my dear son! Do not ascribe divine powers to aught beside God: for, behold, such (a false] ascribing of divinity is indeed an awesome wrong!
നോക്കൂ, ലുഖ്മാന് തന്റെ മകന് സദുപദേശം നല്കുന്നവനായി പറഞ്ഞു: ‘ഓ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട മകനേ ദൈവികമായ ശക്തികള് യഥാര്ത്ഥ ദൈവത്തിനല്ലാതെ പതിച്ചു നല്കരുത്, കാരണം ദിവ്യത്വം (തെറ്റായി) വക വെച്ചു കൊടുക്കല് തീര്ച്ചയായും ഒരു ഘോരാപരാധമാണ്.
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍۢ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ﴿١٤﴾
"And [God says:] 'We have enjoined upon man goodness towards his parents: his mother bore him by bearing strain upon strain, and his utter dependence on her lasted two years: (hence, O man,] be grateful towards Me and towards thy parents, (and remember that] with Me is all journeys' end.
(ദൈവം പറയുന്നു) തന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കള്ക്ക് നന്മ കൊണ്ട് നാം കല്പ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവന്റെ മാതാവ് ദുരിതങ്ങള്ക്കും മേല് ദുരിതം സഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവനെ ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചത്. അവന്റെ പൂര്ണ്ണ ആശ്രയത്വം രണ്ടു വര്ഷത്തോളം നീണ്ടു നിന്നു. (അതുകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യാ) എന്നോടും നിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളോടും കൃതജ്ഞതയുള്ളവനാവുക, (ഓര്ക്കുക) എന്നിലേക്ക് ആണ് എല്ലാ യാത്രകളുടെയും അന്ത്യം.
وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًۭا ۖ وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿١٥﴾
"'[Revere thy parents;] yet should they endeavour to make thee ascribe divinity, side by side with Me, to something which thy mind cannot accept (as divine], obey them not; but (even then] bear them company in this world's life with kindness, and follow the path of those who turn towards Me. In the end, unto Me you all must return; and thereupon I shall make you (truly] understand all that you were doing (in life].'
(നിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുക) എങ്കിലും എനിക്കൊപ്പമവര് നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന് (ദൈവികമായി) അംഗീകരിക്കാന് കഴിയാത്ത വല്ലതിനും ദിവ്യത്വം നല്കാന് നിന്നെ നിര്ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കാന് ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് അവര്ക്ക് വഴിപ്പെടരുത് പക്ഷേ (അത്തരുണത്തിലും) ഇഹലോകവാസത്തില് കരുണയോടെ അവരോട് വര്ത്തിക്കുക. എന്നിലേക്ക് തിരിയുന്നവരുടെ പാത പിന്തുടരുക. ഒടുക്കം എന്നിലേക്ക് തന്നെയാണ് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് മടങ്ങേണ്ടത്. അന്ന് (തീര്ച്ചയായും) നിങ്ങള് (ഈ ജീവിതത്തില്) എന്തായിരുന്നു പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത് എന്ന് നാം മനസ്സിലാക്കിത്തരും.
يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍۢ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍۢ فَتَكُن فِى صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَوْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌۭ﴿١٦﴾
"O my dear son," [continued Luqmin,] "verily, though there be aught of but the weight of a mustard-seed, and though it be [hidden] in a rock, or in the skies, or in the earth, God will bring it to light: for, behold, God is unfathomable (in His wisdom], all-aware.
ഹോ! മകനെ (ലുഖ്മാന് തുടര്ന്നു) തീര്ച്ചയായും ഒരു സംഗതി കടുകുമണിയോളം പോന്ന ഭാരമുള്ളതാവുകയും അത് ഒരു പാറക്കല്ലില് മറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുകയോ അല്ലെങ്കില് ആകാശഭൂമികള്ക്കിടയില് കിടക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തെന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ, ദൈവം അതിനെ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടു വരിക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും, കാരണം അറിയുക, ദൈവം തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തില് തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തുവാനാകാത്തവനും എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവനുമാണ്.
يَٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ ۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ﴿١٧﴾
"O my dear son! Be constant in prayer, and enjoin the doing of what is right and forbid the doing of what is wrong, and bear in patience whatever (ill] may befall thee: this, behold, is something to set one's heart upon!
മകനെ, നിത്യവും നമസ്കാരം നിലനിര്ത്തുക. നന്മ ചെയ്യല് കൊണ്ട് കല്പ്പന നല്കുക തിന്മ ചെയ്യലിനെ വിരോധിക്കുക, നിന്റെ മേല് വന്നു പതിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ (കഷ്ടതകളെയും) സഹിക്കുക, തീര്ച്ചയായും ഇത് മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു നിര്ത്തേണ്ട കാര്യങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്.
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍۢ فَخُورٍۢ﴿١٨﴾
"And turn not thy cheek away from people in (false] pride, and walk not haughtily on earth: for, behold, God does not love anyone who, out of selfconceit, acts in a boastful manner.
(ദുര്) അഭിമാനത്തോടെ ജനങ്ങളില് നിന്നും നിന്റെ കവിളുകളെ തിരിക്കരുത്. ഭൂമിയില് അഹങ്കാര ചിത്തരായി നടക്കരുത് .
وَٱقْصِدْ فِى مَشْيِكَ وَٱغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ لَصَوْتُ ٱلْحَمِيرِ﴿١٩﴾
"Hence, be modest in thy bearing, and lower thy voice: for, behold, the ugliest of all voices is the (loud] voice of asses...."
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിന്റെ ഭാവത്തില് മിതത്വം പുലര്ത്തുക, നിന്റെ ശബ്ദം താഴ്ത്തുക, തീര്ച്ചയായും ഏറ്റവും) വികൃതമായ സ്വരം(ഉറക്കെയുള്ള) കഴുതകളുടെ ശബ്ദമാണ്.
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَٰهِرَةًۭ وَبَاطِنَةًۭ ۗ وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَلَا هُدًۭى وَلَا كِتَٰبٍۢ مُّنِيرٍۢ﴿٢٠﴾
ARE YOU NOT aware that God has made subservient to you all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, and has lavished upon you His blessings, both outward and inward? And yet, among men there is many a one that argues about God without having any knowledge [of Him], without any guidance, and without any light-giving revelation;
ദൈവം ആകാശഭൂമികളിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് പ്രയോജനകരമായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിതിനെപ്പറ്റി നിങ്ങള് ബോധവാന്മാരല്ലെ! അകമേയും പുറമേയുള്ളതായ തന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള് അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് യഥേഷ്ടം ചൊരിഞ്ഞു തന്നില്ലേ, എന്നിട്ടും (ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള) ഒരു ജ്ഞാനവും മാര്ഗദര്ശനവും മാര്ഗ്ഗദീപം തെളിക്കുന്ന വെളിപാടുകളുമില്ലാതെ ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് തര്ക്കിക്കുന്ന ഒരുപാട് പേരുണ്ട് മനുഷ്യരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്.
