Surah Al-Mujadalah — The Pleading

قَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّتِى تُجَٰدِلُكَ فِى زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَآ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ﴿١﴾

GOD has indeed heard the words of her who pleads with thee concerning her husband, and complains unto God. And God does hear what you both have to say: verily, God is all-hearing, all-seeing.

തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് നിന്നോട് വാദിക്കുകയും ദൈവത്തോട് പരാതിപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തവളുടെ വാക്ക് ദൈവം തീർച്ചയായും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങളിരുവരും തമ്മിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ദൈവം കേൾക്കുന്നുണ്ട്; തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം എല്ലാം കേൾക്കുന്നവനും കാണുന്നവനുമാകുന്നു.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُظَٰهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَٰتِهِمْ ۖ إِنْ أُمَّهَٰتُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱلَّٰٓـِٔى وَلَدْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنكَرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَزُورًۭا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌۭ﴿٢﴾

As for those of you who [henceforth] separate themselves from their wives by saying, "Thou art as unlawful to me as my mother", [let them bear in mind that] they can never be [as) their mothers: none are their mothers save those who gave them birth: and so, behold, they but utter a saying that runs counter to reason, and is (therefore) false. But, behold, God is indeed an absolver of sins, much-forgiving:

നിങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യമാരെ “നീ എനിക്ക് എന്റെ മാതാവിനെപ്പോലെ നിഷിദ്ധം ആണ്” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ബന്ധം വേർപെടുത്തുന്നവർ ഓർത്തുവെക്കട്ടെ; അവർ ഒരിക്കലും അവരുടെ മാതാക്കളാവുകയില്ല. അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചവരല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരും അവരുടെ മാതാക്കളല്ല. തീർച്ചയായും അവർ പറയുന്നത് യുക്തിക്ക് നിരക്കാത്തതും അസത്യവുമായ വാക്കു മാത്രമാണ്. എന്നാൽ, തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം ഏറെ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച നൽകുന്നവനും പൊറുക്കുന്നവനുമാകുന്നു.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُظَٰهِرُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا قَالُوا۟ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ تُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ﴿٣﴾

hence, as for those who would separate themselves from their wives by saying, "Thou art as unlawful to me as my mother", and thereafter would go back on what they have said, [their atonement] shall be the freeing of a human being from bondage before the couple may touch one another again: this you are [hereby] exhorted to do - for God is fully aware of all that you do.

അതിനാൽ, സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യമാരെ “നീ എനിക്ക് എന്റെ ഉമ്മയെപ്പോലെ [നിഷിദ്ധം] ആണ്” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ബന്ധം വേർപെടുത്തുകയും, അതിനുശേഷം തങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞതിൽ നിന്ന് പിന്മാറുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ചെയ്യേണ്ട പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം; ഇരുവർക്കുമിടയിൽ സ്പർശനം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിന് മുൻപായി ഒരു അടിമയെ (മനുഷ്യനെ) ബന്ധനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. അത് ചെയ്യാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും (ഉപദേശിക്കുകയും) ചെയ്യുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം ദൈവം കൃത്യമായി അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു.

فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا ۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَإِطْعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۚ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ﴿٤﴾

However, he who does not have the wherewithal shall fast [instead] for two consecutive months before the couple may touch one another again; and he who is unable to do it shall feed sixty needy ones: this, so that you might prove your faith in God and His Apostle. Now these are the bounds set by God; and grievous suffering (in the life to come) awaits all who deny the truth.

എന്നാൽ, അടിമയെ മോചിപ്പിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാത്തയാൾ, ഇരുവർക്കുമിടയിൽ സ്പർശനം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിന് മുൻപായി തുടർച്ചയായി രണ്ട് മാസം നോമ്പ് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്; അതിനും സാധിക്കാത്തയാൾ അറുപത് നിർധനർക്ക് (പാവപ്പെട്ടവർക്ക്) ഭക്ഷണം നൽകേണ്ടതാണ്. നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിവത്തിലും അവന്റെ ദൂതനിലും പൂർണ്ണമായി വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് തെളിയിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് (ഉറപ്പിച്ചു നിർത്തുന്നതിനാണ്) ഇത്. ഇവ ദൈവം നിശ്ചയിച്ച അതിരുകളാകുന്നു; ഈ സത്യത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് പരലോകത്ത് വേദനാജനകമായ ശിക്ഷയുണ്ട്.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآدُّونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ كُبِتُوا۟ كَمَا كُبِتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ وَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ ۚ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ﴿٥﴾

Verily, those who contend against God and His Apostle shall be brought low even as those [evildoers) who lived before them were brought low after We had bestowed [on them] clear messages from on high. And [so,) for those who deny the truth there will be shameful suffering in store

തീർച്ചയായും, ദൈവത്തിനോടും അവന്റെ ദൂതനോടും വിരോധം പുലർത്തുന്നവർ അപമാനിതരാക്കപ്പെടും; അവർക്ക് മുൻപുണ്ടായിരുന്ന [ദുർമാർഗികൾ] അപമാനിതരായതുപോലെ തന്നെ. തീർച്ചയായും നാം വ്യക്തമായ തെളിവുകൾ (സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ) ഇറക്കിത്തന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. സത്യനിഷേധികൾക്ക് അപമാനകരമായ ശിക്ഷയാണുള്ളത്.

يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًۭا فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوٓا۟ ۚ أَحْصَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ وَنَسُوهُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ﴿٦﴾

on the Day when God will raise them all from the dead and will make them truly understand all that they did [in life]: God will have taken [all of] it into account, even though they [themselves] may have forgotten it - for God is witness unto everything.

ദൈവം അവരെയെല്ലാം ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദിവസത്തിൽ, അവർ [ജീവിതത്തിൽ] ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം അവൻ അവരെ കൃത്യമായി ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തും. അവരത് മറന്നുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ദൈവം അതൊക്കെയും തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദൈവം സർവ്വ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്കും സാക്ഷിയാകുന്നു.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ مَا يَكُونُ مِن نَّجْوَىٰ ثَلَٰثَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ رَابِعُهُمْ وَلَا خَمْسَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ سَادِسُهُمْ وَلَآ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكْثَرَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَعَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ ۖ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ﴿٧﴾

ART THOU NOT aware that God knows all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth? Never can there be a secret confabulation between three persons without His being the fourth of them, nor between five without His being the sixth of them; and neither between less than that, or more, without His being with them wherever they may be. But in the end, on Resurrection Day, He will make them truly understand what they did: for, verily, God has full knowledge of everything.

ആകാശങ്ങളിലുള്ളതും ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളതുമെല്ലാം ദൈവം അറിയുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് നീ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ലേ? മൂന്ന് ആളുകൾക്കിടയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന യാതൊരു രഹസ്യ ആലോചനയിലും (സംഭാഷണത്തിലും) അവൻ നാലാമനായി ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കില്ല; അഞ്ച് ആളുകൾക്കിടയിലാണെങ്കിൽ അവൻ ആറാമനായി ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കില്ല. അതിൽ കുറഞ്ഞവരാകട്ടെ, കൂടുതലാകട്ടെ, അവർ എവിടെയായിരുന്നാലും അവൻ അവരോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കില്ല. പിന്നീട്, ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപ്പ് നാളിൽ അവർ ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അവൻ അവരെ കൃത്യമായി ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തും. തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം സർവ്വ കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും പൂർണ്ണ അറിവുള്ളവനാകുന്നു.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نُهُوا۟ عَنِ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَيَتَنَٰجَوْنَ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِذَا جَآءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا ٱللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ ۚ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ﴿٨﴾

Art thou not aware of such as have been forbidden [to intrigue through] secret confabulations, and yet [always] revert to that which they have been forbidden, and conspire with one another with a view to sinful doings, and aggressive conduct, and disobedience to the Apostle? Now whenever such [people] approach thee, [O Muhammad,] they salute thee with a greeting which God has never countenanced; and they say to themselves, "Why does not God chastise us for what we are saying?" Hell shall be their allotted portion: they shall [indeed] enter it - and how vile a journey's end!

ഗൂഢാലോചനകളിൽ നിന്ന് വിരോധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും, തങ്ങൾക്ക് വിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിലേക്ക് തന്നെ വീണ്ടും മടങ്ങുകയും, പാപകരമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്കും അതിക്രമങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രവാചകനോടുള്ള അനുസരണക്കേടിനുമായി പരസ്പരം ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെക്കുറിച്ച് നീ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ടില്ലേ? ഇത്തരം ആളുകൾ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുമ്പോൾ, ഹേ മുഹമ്മദ്, ദൈവം നിനക്ക് നിശ്ചയിച്ചു തന്നിട്ടില്ലാത്ത (അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത) രീതിയിലുള്ള അഭിവാദ്യമാണ് അവർ നിനക്ക് നൽകുന്നത്; കൂടാതെ "ഞങ്ങൾ ഈ പറയുന്നതിന് ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളെ ശിക്ഷിക്കാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?" എന്ന് അവർ സ്വയം ചോദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. നരകമാണ് അവർക്കായി മാറ്റിവെക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്; അവർ അതിൽ ചെന്നെരിയുന്നതാണ്. അത് എത്രയോ മോശമായ സങ്കേതമാണ് (പരിണാമമാണ്)!

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَنَٰجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ﴿٩﴾

[Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, when you do hold secret confabulations, do not conspire with one another with a view to sinful doings, and aggressive conduct, and disobedience to the Apostle, but [rather] hold counsel in the cause of virtue and God- consciousness: and [always] remain conscious of God, unto whom you all shall be gathered.

സത്യവിശ്വാസികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ രഹസ്യ ആലോചനകൾ നടത്തുമ്പോൾ പാപകരമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്കും അതിക്രമങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രവാചകനോടുള്ള അനുസരണക്കേടിനുമായി പരസ്പരം ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തരുത്; മറിച്ച്, പുണ്യത്തിനും ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഭയഭക്തിക്കും (തഖ്‌വ) വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങൾ ആലോചനകൾ നടത്തുക. ഏതൊരു ദൈവത്തിലേക്കാണോ നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടപ്പെടുന്നത്, അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും സൂക്ഷ്മതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കുക (ഭയഭക്തിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കുക).

إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيْسَ بِضَآرِّهِمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴿١٠﴾

[All other kinds of] secret confabulations are but of Satan's doing, so that he might cause grief to those who have attained to faith; yet he cannot harm them in the least, unless it be by God's leave: in God, then, let the believers place their trust!

മറ്റെല്ലാത്തരം ദുഷ്ടത നിറഞ്ഞ രഹസ്യ ആലോചനകളും പിശാചിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ പെട്ടതു മാത്രമാണ്; സത്യവിശ്വാസികളെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ് അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അനുവാദമില്ലാതെ അവർക്ക് യാതൊരു ഉപദ്രവവും വരുത്താൻ അവന് (പിശാചിന്) സാധിക്കുകയില്ല; അതിനാൽ സത്യവിശ്വാസികൾ അല്ലാഹുവിൽ മാത്രം ഭരമേൽപ്പിക്കട്ടെ (തവക്കുൽ ചെയ്യട്ടെ)!

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا۟ فِى ٱلْمَجَٰلِسِ فَٱفْسَحُوا۟ يَفْسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ ٱنشُزُوا۟ فَٱنشُزُوا۟ يَرْفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ دَرَجَٰتٍۢ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ﴿١١﴾

O YOU who have attained to faith! When you are told, "Make room for one another in your collective life", do make room: [and in return,] God will make room for you [in His grace]. And whenever you are told, "Rise up [for a good deed]", do rise up; [and] God will exalt by [many] degrees those of you who have attained to faith and, [above all,] such as have been vouchsafed [true] knowledge: for God is fully aware of all that you do.

സത്യവിശ്വാസികളേ, "നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടായ സദസ്സുകളിൽ മറ്റുള്ളവർക്കായി സ്ഥലം സൗകര്യപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കുക" എന്ന് നിങ്ങളോട് പറയപ്പെട്ടാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ സ്ഥലം നൽകുക; അതിന് പകരമായി ദൈവം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തിൽ വിശാലത നൽകുന്നതാണ്. " ഒരു നല്ല കാര്യത്തിനായി എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോവുക " എന്ന് നിങ്ങളോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ, നിങ്ങൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോവുക; നിങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് സത്യവിശ്വാസം കൈവരിച്ചവരെയും, എല്ലാറ്റിനുമുപരിയായി, സത്യ]ജ്ഞാനം നൽകപ്പെട്ടവരെയും ദൈവം പല പദവികൾ ഉയർത്തുന്നതാണ്. തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം പൂർണ്ണമായി അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نَٰجَيْتُمُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوَىٰكُمْ صَدَقَةًۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ ۚ فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ﴿١٢﴾

O YOU who have attained to faith! Whenever you [intend to] consult the Apostle, offer up something in charity on the occasion of your consultation: this will be for your own good, and more conducive to your [inner] purity. Yet if you are unable to do so, [know that,] verily, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

സത്യവിശ്വാസികളേ! നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകനുമായി രഹസ്യമായി ആലോചന നടത്താൻ (സംസാരിക്കാൻ) ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ, ആ സംഭാഷണത്തിന് മുൻപായി എന്തെങ്കിലും ധർമ്മദാനം (സദഖ) നൽകുക: ഇത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കൂടുതൽ ഉത്തമവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആന്തരിക വിശുദ്ധിക്ക് കൂടുതൽ അനുയോജ്യവുമാകുന്നു. ഇനി അതിന് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുക: തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാനിധിയുമാകുന്നു.

ءَأَشْفَقْتُمْ أَن تُقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوَىٰكُمْ صَدَقَٰتٍۢ ۚ فَإِذْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا۟ وَتَابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ﴿١٣﴾

Do you, perchance, fear lest [you may be sinning if] you cannot offer up anything in charity on the occasion of your consultation [with the Apostle]? But if you fail to do it [for lack of opportunity], and God turns unto you in His mercy, remain but constant in prayer and render [no more than] the purifying dues, and [thus] pay heed unto God and His Apostle: for God is fully aware of all that you do.

പ്രവാചകനുമായുള്ള രഹസ്യ കൂടിയാലോചനയുടെ വേളയിൽ ധർമ്മദാനം നൽകാൻ സാധിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾ തെറ്റ് ചെയ്യുകയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നുവോ? ഇനി അവസരമില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കതിന് സാധിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ദൈവം തന്റെ കരുണയാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് പശ്ചാത്താപം നൽകിയിരിക്കെ, നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാർത്ഥന (നമസ്കാരം) കൃത്യമായി നിർവ്വഹിക്കുകയും നിശ്ചിത ദാനധർമ്മങ്ങൾ (സകാത്ത്) നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുക; അങ്ങനെ ദൈവത്തിനെയും അവന്റെ പ്രവാചകനെയും അനുസരിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുക. തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം പൂർണ്ണമായി അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു.

۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ قَوْمًا غَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْ وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى ٱلْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ﴿١٤﴾

ART THOU NOT aware of those who would be friends with people whom God has condemned? They are neither of you [O believers] nor of those [who utterly reject the truth]: and so they swear to a falsehood the while they know [it to be false].

ദൈവം കോപിച്ച ഒരു ജനതയോട് സൗഹൃദം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നവരെക്കുറിച്ച് നിനക്കറിയില്ലേ? അവർ വിശ്വാസികളായ നിങ്ങളിൽ പെട്ടവരുമല്ല, സത്യത്തെ പൂർണ്ണമായി തള്ളിക്കളയുന്ന ആ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പെട്ടവരുമല്ല. അങ്ങനെ, അത് തെറ്റാണെന്ന് നന്നായി അറിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അവർ വ്യാജത്തിന്മേൽ സത്യം ചെയ്തുപറയുന്നു.

أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ﴿١٥﴾

God has readied for them suffering severe [in the life to come]. Behold, evil indeed is what they are wont to do:

ദൈവം അവർക്കായി പരലോകത്ത് കഠിനമായ ശിക്ഷ ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. തീർച്ചയായും അവർ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് എത്രയോ ദുഷിച്ച കാര്യമാണ്!

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةًۭ فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ﴿١٦﴾

they have made their oaths a cover [for their falseness], and thus they turn others away from the path of God: hence, shameful suffering awaits them.

അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ശപഥങ്ങളെ തങ്ങളുടെ കള്ളത്തരങ്ങൾ മറയ്ക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു പരിചയാക്കി മാറ്റുകയും, അങ്ങനെ അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ തടയുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു: അതിനാൽ, നിന്ദ്യമായ ശിക്ഷയാണ് അവരെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.

لَّن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ﴿١٧﴾

Neither their worldly possessions nor their offspring will be of the least avail to them against God: it is they who are destined for the fire, therein to abide!

അവരുടെ ഐഹിക സമ്പത്തോ മക്കളോ ദൈവത്തിനെതിരെ അവർക്ക് അല്പം പോലും ഉപകരിക്കുകയില്ല. അവർ നരകാഗ്നിക്ക് ഇരയാകേണ്ടവരാകുന്നു; അതിൽ അവർ നിത്യവാസികളായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും!

يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًۭا فَيَحْلِفُونَ لَهُۥ كَمَا يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْكَٰذِبُونَ﴿١٨﴾

On the Day when God will raise them all from the dead, they will swear before Him as they [now] swear before you, thinking that they are on firm ground [in their assumptions]. Oh, verily, it is they, they who are the [greatest] liars!

ദൈവം അവരെയെല്ലാം ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആ നാളിൽ, അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുൻപിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പോലെ അവന്റെ മുൻപിലും സത്യം ചെയ്യും; തങ്ങൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ധാരണകളിൽ ഉറച്ച അടിത്തറയിലാണ് നിൽക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് അവർ വിചാരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നാൽ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുക, തീർച്ചയായും അവർ തന്നെയാണ് ആ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ കളവ് പറയുന്നവർ!

ٱسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ ذِكْرَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ﴿١٩﴾

Satan has gained mastery over them, and has caused them to remain oblivious of the remembrance of God. Such as these are Satan's partisans: oh, verily, it is they, the partisans of Satan, who will truly be the losers!

പിശാച് അവരിൽ ആധിപത്യം നേടുകയും, ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സ്മരണയെക്കുറിച്ച് അവർ അശ്രദ്ധരായിരിക്കാൻ ഇടയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അത്തരക്കാരാണ് പിശാചിന്റെ കൂട്ടാളികൾ. അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുക, തീർച്ചയായും പിശാചിന്റെ കൂട്ടാളികൾ തന്നെയാണ് യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ നഷ്ടം സംഭവിച്ചവർ!

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآدُّونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْأَذَلِّينَ﴿٢٠﴾

Verily, those who contend against God and His Apostle - it is they who [on Judgment Day] shall find themselves among the most abject.

തീർച്ചയായും, ദൈവത്തോടും അവന്റെ പ്രവാചകനോടും എതിർത്തുനിൽക്കുന്നവരാരോ — അവർ തന്നെയാണ് ന്യായവിധി നാളിൽ ഏറ്റവും നിന്ദ്യരായവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിരിക്കുക.
