Surah Al-Insan — Man

هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًۭٔا مَّذْكُورًا﴿١﴾

HAS THERE [not] been an endless span of time before man [appeared - a time] when he was not yet a thing to be thought of?

അനന്തമായ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടം അവന്റെ മേൽ കടന്നുപോയിട്ടില്ലേ, മനുഷ്യൻ പരാമർശിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ട ഒരു വസ്തുവേ ആയിരുന്നില്ലാത്ത (ഒരു കാലം) അവൻ (പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നതിന്) മുൻപ്?

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍۢ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا﴿٢﴾

Verily, it is We who have created man out of a drop of sperm intermingled, so that We might try him [in his later life]: and therefore We made him a being endowed with hearing and sight.

"തീർച്ചയായും, സമ്മിശ്രമായ ഒരു ഇന്ദ്രിയബീജത്തുള്ളിയിൽ നിന്നാണ് നാം മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്, (അവന്റെ പിൽക്കാല ജീവിതത്തിൽ) നാം അവനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനായി; അതിനായി നാം അവനെ കേൾവിയും കാഴ്ചയും നൽകപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ജീവിയാക്കി മാറ്റി."

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًۭا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا﴿٣﴾

Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful.

"തീർച്ചയായും, നാം അവന് വഴി കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു: (ഇനി നന്ദിയുള്ളവനാണോ) അതോ നന്ദികെട്ടവനാണോ എന്ന് തെളിയിക്കേണ്ടത് അവനാണ്.

إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا﴿٤﴾

[Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth We have readied chains and shackles, and a blazing flame

(എന്നാൽ) തീർച്ചയായും, സത്യത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നവർക്കായി ചങ്ങലകളും വിലങ്ങുകളും കത്തുന്ന നരകാഗ്നിയും നാം ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍۢ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا﴿٥﴾

[whereas,] behold, the truly virtuous shall drink from a cup flavoured with the calyx of sweet-smelling flowers:

(എന്നാൽ) തീർച്ചയായും, പുണ്യവാന്മാർ സുഗന്ധപൂരിതമായ പൂങ്കുലകളുടെ സത്ത് ചേർത്ത ഒരു പാനപാത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് കുടിക്കുന്നതാണ്.

عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًۭا﴿٦﴾

a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant.

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ കുടിക്കുന്ന (ആനന്ദത്തിന്റെ) ഒരു ഉറവയാണത്; അത് സമൃദ്ധമായി ഒഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് അവർ കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും.

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭا﴿٧﴾

[The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe of which is bound to spread far and wide,

(പുണ്യവാന്മാർ എന്നാൽ) തങ്ങളുടെ നേർച്ചകൾ നിറവേറ്റുകയും, കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകൾ എങ്ങും പടർന്നുപിടിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നാളിനെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരാകുന്നു.

وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًا﴿٨﴾

and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive,

തങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിനോട് ഏറെ പ്രിയമുണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും (അല്ലെങ്കിൽ തങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നെ ഏറെ ആവശ്യമുണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും) അവർ അഗതികൾക്കും അനാഥർക്കും തടവുകാർക്കും ഭക്ഷണം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു,

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا﴿٩﴾

[saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks:

(തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ട് അവർ പറയും:) 'ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രീതിക്കായി മാത്രം ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ ഊട്ടുന്നു: നിങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് യാതൊരു പ്രതിഫലവും നന്ദിയും ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًۭا قَمْطَرِيرًۭا﴿١٠﴾

behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!"

തീർച്ചയായും, കഠിനവും ദുസ്സഹവുമായ ഒരു നാളിലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥന്റെ വിചാരണയെ ഞങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു!

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةًۭ وَسُرُورًۭا﴿١١﴾

And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy,

അതിനാൽ, ആ നാളിലെ കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകളിൽ നിന്ന് ദൈവം അവരെ കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കുകയും, അവർക്ക് പ്രസന്നതയും സന്തോഷവും പ്രധാനം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യും.

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةًۭ وَحَرِيرًۭا﴿١٢﴾

and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk.

കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകളിൽ അവർ കാണിച്ച ക്ഷമയ്ക്ക് പ്രതിഫലമായി അവർക്ക് അവൻ (ആനന്ദത്തിന്റെ) ഒരു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോപ്പും പട്ടു (വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും) നൽകി ആദരിക്കും.

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًۭا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًۭا﴿١٣﴾

In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe,

ആ (സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോപ്പിൽ) അവർ മഞ്ചങ്ങളിൽ ചാരിയിരിക്കുന്നവരായിരിക്കും; അവിടെ (കടുത്ത) വെയിലോ കഠിനമായ തണുപ്പോ അവർ അറിയുകയുമില്ല.

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًۭا﴿١٤﴾

since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach.

അതിലെ (ആനന്ദദായകമായ) തണലുകൾ അവർക്ക് തൊട്ടുമുകളിൽ താഴ്ന്നുനിൽക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും, അതിലെ പഴക്കുലകൾ വളരെ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ പറിച്ചെടുക്കാവുന്ന രീതിയിൽ താഴ്ന്നു തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതുമായിരിക്കും.

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠﴿١٥﴾

And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal

വെള്ളിക്കലങ്ങളും സ്ഫടികമെന്ന് (തോന്നിക്കുന്ന) പാനപാത്രങ്ങളുമായി അവർക്കിടയിൽ പരിചരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്;

قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًۭا﴿١٦﴾

crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine.

വെള്ളികൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ സ്ഫടികതുല്യമായ പാനപാത്രങ്ങൾ - അവയുടെ അളവ് അവർ തന്നെയാണ് നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നത്.

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا﴿١٧﴾

And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger,

ആ [(സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ) ഇഞ്ചിനീരിന്റെ (സഞ്ചിബീൽ) സത്ത് ചേർത്ത ഒരു പാനപാത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും അവർക്ക് കുടിക്കാൻ നൽകപ്പെടും.

عَيْنًۭا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًۭا﴿١٨﴾

[derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way".

അതിലുള്ള '[നിന്റെ വഴി തേടുക]' (സൽസബീൽ) എന്ന് പേരുള്ള ഒരു (നിന്നുള്ളതാണത്).

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا﴿١٩﴾

And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls;

നിത്യയൗവനമുള്ള ബാലന്മാർ അവരെ പരിചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും: നീ അവരെ കണ്ടാൽ ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്ന മുത്തുകളാണെന്ന് കരുതിപ്പോകും.

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًۭا وَمُلْكًۭا كَبِيرًا﴿٢٠﴾

and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent.

അവിടെയുള്ള (ഏതൊരു കാര്യത്തിലേക്ക്) നീ നോക്കിയാലും, ആനന്ദവും അത്യുന്നതമായ ഒരു സാമ്രാജ്യവും (മാത്രമേ) നിനക്ക് കാണാനാകൂ.
