Surah At-Takwir — Shrouding In Darkness

إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ﴿١﴾

WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness,

സൂര്യൻ ഇരുളിൽ മൂടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ﴿٢﴾

and when the stars lose their light,

നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് അവയുടെ പ്രകാശം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ﴿٣﴾

and when the mountains are made to vanish,

പർവ്വതങ്ങൾ അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാവുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ﴿٤﴾

and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended,

ഗര്‍ഭംതികഞ്ഞ പെണ്ണൊട്ടകങ്ങൾ പ്രസവിക്കാറായിട്ടും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടാതെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ﴿٥﴾

and when all beasts are gathered together,

വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ﴿٦﴾

and when the seas boil over,

സമുദ്രങ്ങൾ തിളച്ചു മറിയുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ﴿٧﴾

and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds],

എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരും (തങ്ങളുടെ കർമ്മങ്ങളുമായി) ചേർക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ﴿٨﴾

and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask

ഉയിരോടെ മണ്ണിൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ട പെൺകുട്ടിയോട് ചോദിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍۢ قُتِلَتْ﴿٩﴾

for what crime she had been slain,

ഏതു കുറ്റത്തിനാണവൾ വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് എന്ന്.

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ﴿١٠﴾

and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded,

(മനുഷ്യരുടെ കർമ്മങ്ങൾ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ) ഏടുകൾ നിവർത്തപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ﴿١١﴾

and when heaven is laid bare,

ആകാശം തുറന്നു കാട്ടപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ﴿١٢﴾

and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright,

(നരകത്തിലെ) ആളിക്കത്തുന്ന തീ കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമായി ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ﴿١٣﴾

and when paradise is brought into view:

സ്വർഗ്ഗം ദൃശ്യമാക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ:

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ﴿١٤﴾

[on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself].

(ആ നാളിൽ) ഓരോ മനുഷ്യനും താൻ (തനിക്കായി) എന്താണ് ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കും.

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ﴿١٥﴾

BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars,

എന്നാൽ അങ്ങനെയല്ല! പിൻവാങ്ങി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ സാക്ഷ്യം നിർത്തുന്നു,

ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ﴿١٦﴾

the planets that run their course and set,

തങ്ങളുടെ ഭ്രമണപഥത്തിലൂടെ പ്രയാണം ചെയ്ത് അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാകുന്ന ഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും,

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ﴿١٧﴾

and the night as it darkly falls,

ഇരുളടഞ്ഞു വീഴുന്ന രാത്രിയെയും,

وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ﴿١٨﴾

and the morn as it softly breathes:

മൃദുവായി ശ്വാസമെടുക്കുന്ന പ്രഭാതത്തെയും:

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ﴿١٩﴾

behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle,

തീർച്ചയായും ഈ (ദൈവിക ഗ്രന്ഥം) ആദരണീയനായ ഒരു ദൂതന്റെ (അവതീർണ) വചനം തന്നെയാകുന്നു,

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍۢ﴿٢٠﴾

with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned

അത്യധികമായ ശക്തിയുള്ളവനും, സർവ്വശക്തനായ സിംഹാസനമുടയവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനീയനുമായ,
