Surah An-Nahl — The Bee

أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴿١﴾

GOD'S JUDGMENT is [bound to] come: do not, therefore, call for its speedy advent! Limitless is He in His glory and sublimely exalted above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity!

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിധി വരിക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും. അതിനാൽ അത് എത്തിച്ചേരാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ധൃതി കാണിക്കരുത്. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധിക്കും ഔന്നത്യത്തിനും പരിധികളില്ല. അവർ അവനിൽ പങ്കു ചേർക്കുന്നവരേക്കാളൊക്കെ എത്രയോ ഉന്നതിയിലാണവൻ.

يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ﴿٢﴾

He causes the angels to descend with this divine inspiration, [bestowed] at His behest upon whomever He wills of His servants: "Warn [all human beings] that there is no deity save Me: be, therefore, conscious of Me!"

ദൈവം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരിൽ താൻ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നവരുടെ മേൽ തന്റെ ദിവ്യജ്ഞാനവുമായി മലക്കുകളെ ഇറക്കുന്നു. “നിങ്ങൾ (എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യർക്കും) മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകുക. ഞാനല്ലാതെ ആരാധ്യനില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ സൂക്ഷിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുക.”

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ تَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴿٣﴾

He has created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [an inner] truth; sublimely exalted is He above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity!

അവന്‍ ആകാശഭൂമികളെ യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യാധിഷ്ഠിതമായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ജനം ആരോപിക്കുന്ന പങ്കാളിത്തത്തിൽ നിന്നെല്ലാം എത്രയോ മുകളിലാണവൻ.

خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ﴿٤﴾

He creates man out of a [mere] drop of sperm: and lo! this same being shows himself endowed with the power to think and to argue!

(വെറും) ഒരു ബീജകണത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് അവൻ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്. എന്നിട്ട്, ഈ മനുഷ്യനിതാ തനിക്ക് ചിന്തിക്കാനും തർക്കിക്കാനും ശേഷിയുണ്ടെന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്നു!

وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَا ۗ لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌۭ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ﴿٥﴾

And He creates cattle: you derive warmth from them, and [various other] uses; and from them you obtain food;

അവൻ കന്നുകാലികളെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. അവയിൽ നിന്ന് തണുപ്പകറ്റാനുള്ള മാർഗങ്ങളും മറ്റുപകാരങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്നു. അവയിൽ നിന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഭക്ഷണം ലഭിക്കുന്നു.

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ﴿٦﴾

and you find beauty in them when you drive them home in the evenings and when you take them out to pasture in the mornings.

സന്ധ്യകളിൽ വീടുകളിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോഴും പ്രഭാതങ്ങളിൽ മേയാൻ വിടുമ്പോഴും അവ നിങ്ങളിൽ കൗതുകമുണർത്തുന്നു.

وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍۢ لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلْأَنفُسِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ﴿٧﴾

And they carry your loads to [many] a place which [otherwise] you would be unable to reach without great hardship to yourselves. Verily, your Sustainer is most compassionate, a dispenser of grace!

അത്യന്തം ക്ലേശത്തോടെയല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എത്തിച്ചേരാൻ കഴിയാത്തയിടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അവ നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുമടുകൾ വഹിക്കുന്നു. തീർച്ചയായും നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് പരമകാരുണികനും കരുണാമയനുമാകുന്നു.

وَٱلْخَيْلَ وَٱلْبِغَالَ وَٱلْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةًۭ ۚ وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴿٨﴾

And (it is He who creates] horses and mules and asses for you to ride, as well as for [their] beauty: and He will yet create things of which [today] you have no knowledge.

നിങ്ങൾക്ക് യാത്ര ചെയ്യാനും അലങ്കാരമാവാനും കുതിരകളെയും കോവർകഴുതകളെയും കഴുതകളെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത് അവനാണ്. (ഇന്ന്) നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാത്ത പലതും അവൻ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്നു.

وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصْدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٌۭ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ﴿٩﴾

And [because He is your Creator,] it rests with God alone to show you the right path: yet there is [many a one] who swerves from it. However, had He so willed, He would have guided you all aright.

(നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്രഷ്ടാവായതു മൂലം) നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നേർവഴി കാണിച്ചുതരേണ്ടത് അവൻ മാത്രമാണ്. എന്നിട്ടും (പലരും) അതിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യതിചലിച്ചു പോകുന്നവരാണ്. അവൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരെയും നേർവഴിയിലാക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ ۖ لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌۭ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌۭ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ﴿١٠﴾

It is He who sends down water from the skies; you drink thereof, and thereof [drink] the plants upon which you pasture your beasts;

ആകാശത്തു നിന്ന് വെള്ളമിറക്കുന്നത് അവനാണ്. നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലികൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്ന സസ്യങ്ങളും ഈ വെള്ളം (കുടിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്).

يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرْعَ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلْأَعْنَٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴿١١﴾

(and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date-palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think!

ഇതിലൂടെ അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി വിളകൾ ഉൽപാദിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഒലീവ് മരങ്ങളും ഈന്തപ്പനകളും മുന്തിരികളും മറ്റ് ഫലങ്ങളും വളർത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. കാണുക, തീർച്ചയായും ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഇതിൽ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമുണ്ട്!

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ﴿١٢﴾

And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason!

അവൻ ദിനരാത്രങ്ങളെയും സൂര്യനെയും ചന്ദ്രനെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു (അവന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾക്ക് വിധേയമായി) അധീനപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. എല്ലാ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളും അവന്റെ കൽപനക്ക് വിധേയമായിരിക്കുന്നു. കാണുക, തീർച്ചയായും വിവേകശാലികളായ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇതിലൊരു സന്ദേശമുണ്ട്!

وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَذَّكَّرُونَ﴿١٣﴾

And all the [beauty of] many hues - which He has created for you on earth: in this, behold, there is a message for people who (are willing to] take it to heart!

നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി വര്‍ണവൈവിധ്യമുള്ള വസ്തുക്കൾ അവൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. തുറന്ന ഹൃദയമുള്ള മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഇതിൽ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളുണ്ട്!

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا۟ مِنْهُ لَحْمًۭا طَرِيًّۭا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةًۭ تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ﴿١٤﴾

And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws], so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him].

സമുദ്രത്തെ (അവന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾക്ക്) അധീനമാക്കിയതും അവൻ തന്നെ; നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിൽ നിന്ന് പുതുമാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കാനും അണിയാനുള്ള വജ്രങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്താനും. തിരകളെ കീറിമുറിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന കപ്പലുകളെ നിങ്ങൾക്കതിനു മുകളിൽ കാണാം. നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ തേടിപ്പോകാനും (അവനോട്) നന്ദിയുള്ളവരാകാനും വേണ്ടിയാണത്.

وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًۭا وَسُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ﴿١٥﴾

And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way,

ഭൂമി നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ഉലഞ്ഞുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻ അവൻ മലകൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. കൂടെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വഴി കണ്ടെത്താൻ പുഴകളും വഴികളും.

وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍۢ ۚ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ﴿١٦﴾

as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way.

അതോടൊപ്പം വേറെയും വഴിയടയാളങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. കാരണം നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ മുഖേനെയാണ് മനുഷ്യൻ വഴി കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്.

أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ ۗ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ﴿١٧﴾

IS, THEN, HE who creates comparable to any [being] that cannot create? Will you not, then, bethink yourselves?

അപ്പോൾ സ്രഷ്ടാവായ അവൻ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ കെൽപില്ലാത്തവരെ പോലെയാണോ? ചിന്തിച്ചു മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലേ?

وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ﴿١٨﴾

For, should you try to count God's blessings, you could never compute them! Behold, God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace;

നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ എണ്ണിത്തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്താൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കതിന് സാധിക്കുകയില്ല. തീർച്ചയായും ദൈവം ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാമയനുമാണ്.

وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ﴿١٩﴾

and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open.

നിങ്ങൾ ഒളിച്ചു വെക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളും വെളിവാക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളും ദൈവത്തിനറിയാം.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ﴿٢٠﴾

Now those beings that some people invoke beside God cannot create anything, since they themselves are but created:

ദൈവത്തെയല്ലാതെ ചിലർ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നവരാർക്കും ഒന്നും തന്നെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല; അവർ സ്വയം സൃഷ്ടികളാണ്.
