Surah Qaf —

قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ﴿١﴾

Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur'an!

ഖാഫ്. മഹനീയമായ ഈ ഖുർആനെക്കുറിച്ച് നീ ചിന്തിച്ചുനോക്കൂ!

بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ﴿٢﴾

But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this!

തങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുതന്നെ ഒരു മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകാരൻ തങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് വന്നതിൽ അവർ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അപ്പോൾ ആ സത്യനിഷേധികൾ പറഞ്ഞു: 'ഇതൊരു അത്ഭുതകരമായ കാര്യം തന്നെ!

أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌۭ﴿٣﴾

Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!"

നാം മരിച്ച് വെറും മണ്ണായിക്കഴിഞ്ഞതിന് ശേഷം നാം എങ്ങനെ വീണ്ടും ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപിക്കപ്പെടും? അങ്ങനെയൊരു മടക്കം തികച്ചും അസംഭവ്യം തന്നെയാകുന്നു.

قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ﴿٤﴾

Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing.

ഭൂമി അവരുടെ ശരീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് എന്തെല്ലാമാണ് തിന്നുതീർക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് നമുക്ക് നന്നായി അറിയാം. നമ്മുടെ പക്കൽ എല്ലാം കൃത്യമായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഒരു സുരക്ഷിത പുസ്തകമുണ്ട്.

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍۢ مَّرِيجٍ﴿٥﴾

Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion.

അല്ല, ഈ സത്യം തങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നിൽ വന്നപ്പോഴൊക്കെ അവർ അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളയുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്; അതിനാൽ തന്നെ അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ കടുത്ത ആശയക്കുഴപ്പത്തിലാണ്.

أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍۢ﴿٦﴾

Do they not look at the sky above them - how We have built it and made it beautiful and free of all faults?

തങ്ങളുടെ മീതെയുള്ള ആകാശത്തേക്ക് അവർ നോക്കിയില്ലേ — എപ്രകാരമാണ് നാം അതിനെ നിർമ്മിക്കുകയും അലങ്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതെന്നും, അതിൽ യാതൊരുവിധ വിള്ളലുകളുമില്ലെന്നും (ന്യൂനതകളുമില്ലെന്നും)?

وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍۢ﴿٧﴾

And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds,

ഭൂമിയാകട്ടെ, നാം അതിനെ വിസ്തൃതമാക്കുകയും, അതിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുന്ന പർവ്വതങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും, കൺകുളിർപ്പിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാത്തരം മനോഹരമായ സസ്യലതാദികളെയും അതിൽ മുളപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

تَبْصِرَةًۭ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍۢ مُّنِيبٍۢ﴿٨﴾

thus offering an insight and a reminder unto every human being who willingly turns unto God.

അപ്രകാരം, ദൈവത്തിലേക്ക് സ്വമനസ്സാലെ തിരിയുന്ന ഏതൊരു മനുഷ്യനും ഇതൊരു ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയും ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തലുമായി മാറുന്നു.

وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ مُّبَٰرَكًۭا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ﴿٩﴾

And We send down from the skies water rich in blessings, and cause thereby gardens to grow, and fields of grain,

ആകാശത്തുനിന്ന് അനുഗ്രഹപൂർണ്ണമായ മഴവെള്ളം നാം വർഷിക്കുകയും, അതുവഴി തോട്ടങ്ങളും കൊയ്തെടുക്കുന്ന ധാന്യവിളകളും നാം മുളപ്പിച്ചുണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَٰتٍۢ لَّهَا طَلْعٌۭ نَّضِيدٌۭ﴿١٠﴾

and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates,

അടുക്കടുക്കായി കുലകളണിഞ്ഞ, ഉയരമുള്ള ഈന്തപ്പനകളും (നാം അതുവഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കി).

رِّزْقًۭا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ﴿١١﴾

as sustenance apportioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man's] coming-forth from death.

മനുഷ്യർക്കുള്ള ആഹാരമായിട്ട് (നാം അത് നൽകി); ഈ മാർഗ്ഗത്തിലൂടെ നിർജ്ജീവമായ ഭൂമിക്ക് നാം ജീവൻ നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു: ഇതുപോലെതന്നെയായിരിക്കും മരണത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള (മനുഷ്യന്റെ) ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപ്പും.

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ﴿١٢﴾

[Long] before those [who now deny resurrection) did Noah's people give the lie to this truth, and [so did] the folk of Ar-Rass, and [the tribes of] Thamud

പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെ ഇപ്പോൾ നിഷേധിക്കുന്ന) ഇവരെക്കാൾ വളരെ മുമ്പ് തന്നെ നൂഹിന്റെ ജനതയും, അർറസ്സ് നിവാസികളും, ഥമൂദ് ഗോത്രക്കാരും ഈ സത്യത്തെ വ്യാജമാക്കി തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

وَعَادٌۭ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍۢ﴿١٣﴾

and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot's brethren,

ആദ് ജനതയും, ഫറവോനും ലൂത്വിന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളും,

وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ ۚ كُلٌّۭ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ﴿١٤﴾

and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan], and the people of Tubba': they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true.

വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞ താഴ്‌വരയിലെ നിവാസികളും (മദ്‌യൻകാർ), തുബ്ബഇന്റെ ജനതയും; ഇവരെയെല്ലാം ആ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ വ്യാജമാക്കി തള്ളിക്കളയുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത് — അതിനെത്തുടർന്ന്, നാം അവർക്ക് നൽകിയിരുന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് (ശിക്ഷ) യാഥാർത്ഥ്യമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തു.

أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍۢ مِّنْ خَلْقٍۢ جَدِيدٍۢ﴿١٥﴾

Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation!

അപ്പോൾ, ആദ്യത്തെ സൃഷ്ടിപ്പുകൊണ്ട് നാം തളർന്നുപോയെന്നാണോ (അവർ കരുതുന്നത്)? അല്ല, പക്ഷേ അവർ പുതിയൊരു സൃഷ്ടിപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ച് (ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ച്) ഇപ്പോഴും സംശയത്തിലാണ്.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ﴿١٦﴾

NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein.

തീർച്ചയായും നാം തന്നെയാണ് മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്. അവന്റെ മനസ്സ് അവനോട് എന്താണ് മന്ത്രിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് നാം നന്നായി അറിയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; കാരണം, നാം അവന്റെ ജീവന നാഡിയേക്കാൾ (കണ്ഠനാഡിയേക്കാൾ) അവനോട് അടുത്തവനാകുന്നു.

إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌۭ﴿١٧﴾

[And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left,

അപ്രകാരം, (അവന്റെ പ്രകൃതത്തിന്റെ) രണ്ട് ആവശ്യങ്ങളും വലത്തുനിന്നും ഇടത്തുനിന്നും പരസ്പരം മത്സരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മുഖാമുഖം വരുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം

مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌۭ﴿١٨﴾

not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present.

രേഖപ്പെടുത്താൻ തയ്യാറായി നിൽക്കുന്ന ഒരു നിരീക്ഷകൻ (കാവൽക്കാരൻ) അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഉണ്ടാകാതെ ഒരു വാക്കുപോലും അവൻ ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നില്ല.

وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ﴿١٩﴾

And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth - that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! -

അങ്ങനെ, മരണത്തിന്റെ ബോധക്ഷയം (ആലസ്യം) അതിന്റെ [പൂർണ്ണമായ] യാഥാർത്ഥ്യവുമായി വന്നെത്തുന്നു - [ഹേ മനുഷ്യാ,] നീ എപ്പോഴും തിരിഞ്ഞു കളയാൻ (ഒഴിഞ്ഞുമാറാൻ) ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്ന അതേ കാര്യം തന്നെ!

وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ﴿٢٠﴾

and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled.

ഒടുവിൽ [പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ] കാഹളം ഊതപ്പെടും: അത്, താക്കീത് യാഥാർത്ഥ്യമാകുന്ന ദിവസമായിരിക്കും.
