Surah Al-Qamar — The Moon

ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ﴿١﴾

THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is I split asunder!

അന്ത്യസമയം അടുത്തെത്തിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു; ചന്ദ്രൻ പിളരുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു!

وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌۭ مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ﴿٢﴾

But if they [who reject all thought of the Last Hour] were to see a sign [of its approach], they would turn aside and say, "An ever-recurring delusion!" -

അന്ത്യദിനത്തിന്റെ ആസന്നത സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു അടയാളം അവർ കണ്ടാലും, അവർ മുഖംതിരിക്കുകയും 'ഇത് നിരന്തരം ആവർത്തിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന മിഥ്യാധാരണ (മായാജാലം) മാത്രമാണ്' എന്ന് പരയുകയും ചെയ്യും.]

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍۢ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ﴿٣﴾

for they are bent on giving it the lie, being always wont to follow their own desires. Yet everything reveals its truth in the end.

കാരണം, അത് വ്യാജമാണെന്ന് വരുത്തിത്തീർക്കാനാണ് അവർ തുനിയുന്നത്, തന്നിഷ്ടങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്ന ശീലം മാത്രമാണ് അവർക്കുള്ളത്. എന്നാൽ ഏതൊരു കാര്യവും ഒടുവിൽ അതിന്റെ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും.

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ﴿٤﴾

And withal, there has come unto them many a tiding that should have restrained [their arrogance) :

എന്നിരുന്നാലും, അവരെ ദുർമാർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കാൻ തക്കതായ പ്രബോധനങ്ങളും മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകളും അടങ്ങിയ അനേകം സംഭവവികാസങ്ങൾ അവർക്ക് മുന്നിലെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ﴿٥﴾

far-reaching wisdom [was held out to them]: but [since) all warnings have been of no avail,

അതിരറ്റ ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവുമാണ് അവർക്ക് നൽകപ്പെട്ടത്; എങ്കിലും, മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകളൊന്നും തന്നെ അവർക്ക് ഫലം കണ്ടില്ല,

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ نُّكُرٍ﴿٦﴾

turn thou away from them. On the Day when the Summoning Voice will summon [man] unto something that the mind cannot conceive,

ആകയാൽ,പ്രവാചകരേ , നീ അവരിൽ നിന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞുകളയുക, മനസ്സിന് ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം ഭയാനകമായ ഒരു കാര്യത്തിലേക്ക് ആ വിളിച്ചുണർത്തുന്നവൻ മനുഷ്യനെ വിളിച്ചുണർത്തുന്ന ആ ദിനത്തിൽ.

خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ﴿٧﴾

they will come forth from their graves, with their eyes downcast, [swarming about] like locusts scattered [by the wind],

ദൃഷ്ടികൾ താഴ്ന്നവരായി, കാറ്റിൽ അങ്ങോളമിങ്ങോളം ചിതറിപ്പോയ വെട്ടുക്കിളിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ശവകുടീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുവരുന്നതാണ്.

مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ﴿٨﴾

running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and) those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!"

വിളിച്ചുണർത്തിയവന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഭയാശങ്കകളോടെ ഓടിയടുക്കുന്നവരായി അവർ മാറും. സത്യം നിഷേധിച്ചവർ അന്ന് വിളിച്ചുപറയും: 'ഏറ്റവും കാഠിന്യമേറിയ ദിനമാണിത്!

۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌۭ وَٱزْدُجِرَ﴿٩﴾

[LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed.

ഇവർക്ക് മുൻപ് നോഹയുടെ ജനതയും സത്യത്തെ നിഷേധിച്ച് തള്ളിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. നമ്മുടെ ദാസനെ കളവാക്കിയ അവർ, 'ഭ്രാന്തനെന്ന്' ആരോപിക്കുകയും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തി പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌۭ فَٱنتَصِرْ﴿١٠﴾

Thereupon he called out to his Sustainer, "Verily, I am defeated; come Thou, then, to my succour!"

അതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവിനെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു: 'ഞാൻ പൂർണ്ണമായും നിസ്സഹായനായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് നീയെനിക്ക് തുണയാകേണമേ!

فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍۢ مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ﴿١١﴾

And so We caused the gates of heaven to open with water pouring down in torrents,

അങ്ങനെ, പേമാരിയാൽ ആകാശകവാടങ്ങൾ നാം തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًۭا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ قَدْ قُدِرَ﴿١٢﴾

and caused the earth to burst forth with springs, so that the waters met for a purpose pre-ordained:

ഭൂമിയെ ഉറവകളായി നാം പൊട്ടിച്ചു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങനെ നിർണ്ണയിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കാര്യത്തിനായി ആ ജലാശയങ്ങൾ സംയോജിച്ചു:

وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍۢ وَدُسُرٍۢ﴿١٣﴾

but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails,

പലകകളും ആണികളും ചേർത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ഒരു പെട്ടകത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നാം വഹിച്ചു;

تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءًۭ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ﴿١٤﴾

and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude.

അത് നമ്മുടെ സംരക്ഷണയിൽ ഒഴുകിനീങ്ങി; സത്യനിഷേധത്താൽ അനാദരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുള്ള പ്രതിഫലമായിക്കൊണ്ട്.

وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ﴿١٥﴾

And, indeed, We have caused such [floating vessels] to remain forever a sign [of Our grace unto man]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart?

തീർച്ചയായും, മനുഷ്യരാശിക്കുള്ള നമ്മുടെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമായി അതിനെ നാം നിലനിർത്തുകയുണ്ടായി; എന്നാൽ, അതുകൊണ്ടു ചിന്തിച്ചു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരായി ആരെങ്കിലുമുണ്ടോ?

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ﴿١٦﴾

And how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!

അപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ശിക്ഷയും എന്റെ മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകളും എത്ര കഠിനമായിരുന്നു!

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ﴿١٧﴾

Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart?

നിശ്ചയമായും, പഠിക്കാനും ചിന്തിക്കാനും ഖുർആനെ നാം ലളിതമാക്കിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നിരിക്കെ അതുകൊണ്ട് ചിന്തിച്ചു പഠിക്കുന്നവരായി ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ?

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ﴿١٨﴾

TO THE TRUTH gave the lie [the tribe of] 'Ad: and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded!

ആദ് സമുദായവും തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകനെ] കളവാക്കി തള്ളി. തുടർന്ന്, എന്റെ താക്കീതുകൾ അവർ അവഗണിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നൽകിയ ശിക്ഷ എത്ര ഭയാനകമായിരുന്നു!

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ﴿١٩﴾

Behold, We let loose upon them a raging stormwind on a day of bitter misfortune:

ഒരു നീണ്ട ദുരിതത്തിന്റെ ദിനത്തിൽ അതിശക്തമായ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റാണ് നാം അവരിലേക്ക് അയച്ചത്;

تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ﴿٢٠﴾

it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted:

അത് മനുഷ്യരെ, കടപുഴകി വീണ ഈന്തപ്പനത്തടികൾ പോലെ പിഴുതെടുത്ത് എറിഞ്ഞു;
