Surah Al-Ghashiyah — The Overshadowing Event

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ﴿١﴾

HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event?'

നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആ മൂടിപ്പൊതിയുന്ന സംഭവത്തിന്റെ വൃത്താന്തം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ﴿٢﴾

Some faces will on that Day be downcast,

അന്ന് ചില മുഖങ്ങൾ ഭയവിഹ്വലമായിരിക്കും,

عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭ﴿٣﴾

toiling [under burdens of sin], worn out [by fear],

(പാപങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരത്താൽ) അധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവരും, (ഭയത്താൽ) പരവശരുമായിരിക്കും,

تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭ﴿٤﴾

about to enter a glowing fire,

ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന തീയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നവർ,

تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍۢ﴿٥﴾

given to drink from a boiling spring.

തിളയ്ക്കുന്ന നീരുറവയിൽ നിന്ന് കുടിക്കാൻ നൽകപ്പെടുന്നവർ.

لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍۢ﴿٦﴾

No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns,

ഉണങ്ങിയ മുള്ളുകളുടെ കയ്പ്പ് അല്ലാതെ അവർക്ക് യാതൊരു ആഹാരവുമില്ല,

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍۢ﴿٧﴾

which gives no strength and neither stills hunger.

അത് പോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയോ വിശപ്പടക്കുകയോ ഇല്ല.

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاعِمَةٌۭ﴿٨﴾

[And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss,

(എന്നാൽ) അന്ന് ചില മുഖങ്ങൾ ആനന്ദത്താൽ ശോഭിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും,

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۭ﴿٩﴾

well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving,

സ്വപ്രയത്‌നങ്ങളുടെ (ഫലത്തിൽ) സംപ്രീതവുമായിരിക്കും;

فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ﴿١٠﴾

in a garden sublime,

ഉന്നതമായ ഒരു തോട്ടത്തിൽ,

لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةًۭ﴿١١﴾

wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk.

അവിടെ നീ യാതൊരു വ്യർത്ഥമായ വാക്കും കേൾക്കുകയില്ല.

فِيهَا عَيْنٌۭ جَارِيَةٌۭ﴿١٢﴾

Countless springs will flow therein,

എണ്ണമറ്റ നീരുറവകൾ അവിടെ ഒഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും,

فِيهَا سُرُرٌۭ مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭ﴿١٣﴾

[and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high,

ഉയർത്തിവെക്കപ്പെട്ട (സന്തോഷത്തിന്റെ) സിംഹാസനങ്ങളും,

وَأَكْوَابٌۭ مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭ﴿١٤﴾

and goblets placed ready,

ഒരുക്കിവെച്ച പാനപാത്രങ്ങളും,

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌۭ﴿١٥﴾

and cushions ranged,

നിരത്തി വെച്ച തലയിണകളും,

وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ﴿١٦﴾

and carpets spread out...

വിരിച്ചിട്ട പരവതാനികളും അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും...

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ﴿١٧﴾

DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created?

എന്നിട്ടും അവർ (പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നവർ) ജലനിർഭരമായ മേഘങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും നോക്കുന്നില്ലേ, അവ എങ്ങനെയാണ് സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് (നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ലേ)?

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ﴿١٨﴾

And at the sky, how it is raised aloft?

വാനലോകത്തെ, അത് എങ്ങനെ ഉയർത്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്?

وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ﴿١٩﴾

And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared?

പർവ്വതങ്ങളിലേക്ക്, അവ എങ്ങനെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു നിർത്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്?

وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ﴿٢٠﴾

And at the earth, how it is spread out?

ഭൂതലത്തെ, അത് എങ്ങനെ വിസ്തൃതമാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്?
